Chorrol Houses for Western Reach

I was showing this texture to the Skyrim and someone said you might be using Chorrol Houses in Western Reach, so I'm putting it here. it is Chorrol roof 1 texture with added snow. I think its a little much. the second is Chorrol roof tile 1 with less snow.

I'm going to pass this on to Gyssar and get his thoughts. I'm doing Jehanna, right on the Skyrim border so I'm pretty sure I could get some us out of these. Farrun could use them too, and maybe some of the other northerly areas.

I think we'll be mostly using freshly modelled architecture for the northern areas of the province, but these textures will surely come in handy.

Edit: Oh, and you should consider making the snow a little more blurred, it looks too sharp on those screens.

Those look great. One thing though. In the first piece the bricks change as they go up, also slightly like that in the second picture. It may just be a trick of the imagination but I thought I would point that out.

Brian (feels neat to call someone else that) here's a question for you... we are currently looking for people to sketch city layouts as well.

I relaize that you are working on textures (and doing so at an amazing speed too) so unless you enjoy that kind of work I won't ask you about it.

I can try, but I would have to do it in paint or gimp (I don't have any real drawing skills in RL). So I guess thats a yes

Alright I threw together a concept that poped into my head

Edit: oh yeah, description. obviosly, the thing in the middle is the castle. the little walled in areas around it can be used as a castle garden, th entry gate to the castle should be retextured, its the Kvatch one, so its burned up. and the rest is self explanatory.

Gyssar, I think you just missed something.

This is a diligent, efficient, enthuesiastic modder who can texture and is fast with the CS. Find him a town that needs retextures, and you can rest at ease knowing he can handle it. Utilize the tallent that has just shown itself.

Well, I think we can use that design, if you're willing. (Team... thoughts here?)

That would make a great landlocked town somewhere in HR, probably a city surrounded by flatter ground. (Say somewhere in the western half of the province? The east is pretty mountainous terrian.)

Being from Canada and raised in Ontario, I know that circular designs were often used for landlocked settlements on gentle terrain. In fact, there was an interesting historical note regarding that which I learned in school.

Two towns in southwestern Ontario were planned at the same time, namely Goderich and Guelph. The plans got mixed up. Goderich, which is on Lake Huron, is laid out in a circular pattern. Guelph, which is inland, is laid out in a straight line to follow a shoreline and allow for docks and such.

Food for design thought...

Edit: I found this tiger texture at tessource, I was wondering if I can retexture it so we can have a snow tiger. I just dont know if we need the authors permision, its a modders resource. http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=6848

If you are unsure, then I would contact the author through TESsource, mention that you had disovered the texture and would like to suggest it it to the Beyond Cyrodiil: Hight Rock team for use in the mod. Include a link to the foru thread here, so he/she can get an idea easily of what it's all about.

The description lists it as a "modder's resource", but I imagine that it would be best to make sure their opinoin hasn't changed since they posted the texture.

Also, check the readme with the file (assuming there is one). Lots of modders will say there whether their work is free to all takers or limited in use and whther or not they want mention in the mod credits.

We all want to be fair and give credit wherever it is due. Something this big is never the work of one person.

My textures painted from scratch

Consider this a modders' resource for making new mods. I don't really mind if any of this is used for or in other mods, but it's nice to be asked (I rarely say no!), and please give credit to me for the textures where it is due. These have taken me a good few hours of work and are entirely painted by hand. Make sure to change any filenames and ID's to avoid accidental overwrites. Please ask me before uploading it anywhere so I can make sure the correct version is used and not an out of date one.
So I'm guessing I should ask.

WW, if you're having trouble with the lighthouse, you might want to let Gyssar see it. He is our 3D modelling wizard (along with Fear, who he just brought into contact with us).

He might have ideas or assitance to offer. Gyssar is patient and super-helpful about programs and the like, as well as hard-headed and sensible.

Today in history we were talking about the Knossos's, and they had this really cool palace that would work well as a very unique mesh. 3 pics, last an interior (you asked for concept draqings, I found them online). These, all but last, are artist recreations, lots of it has been torn down.

I just recently noticed that the textures I made don't tile, so I'll have to work on that. Also, I made my 1st "stab" at a weapon in Blender. The part thats jutting out is supposed to be emerald. 644 faces.

Try adding some small cracks and scratches to the bricks... you could even add a few green stretches of moss. Also a bit more discoloration between the bricks could do a good job of making them seem more real.
