Another of the items from the archived project forums, most or of these are armor which are slated for inclusion in the game.

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v256/z.../concept%20art/

Currently I know that:

- Item 2 was originanlly slated to become Reachman leather. (This may have changed or dropped since - we are still working on this one.)
- Item 3 is slated to become Orcish heavy armor
- Item 4 is slated to become Reachman chaim mail
- Item 5 is designated as concept for a dragonling (we may want to do a re-texture based on this concept for the Akatosh mount with the appropriate coloration)

I would invite Gyssar to illuminate us on which items I've missed, so that we can look to assigning some of these as claims.

Just a thought. If we could, would we be able to do a robe that doubles as armor? I'll do a quick sketch of what I mean, but I think it would be really neat for the battlemage class and such, and considering High Rocks affinity to magic, it would kinda fit.

Sounds good. Let's see what your idea is.

:)

Bare with me lol, I do not have a scanner, and am reduced to taking pictures on my cell phone, sending them to my comp and trying to edit them to make em look slightly workable :)

If the overmesh you pointed out in the drawing is chain, then it would make sense to have the coif (cap or helmet) portion of the outfit be chain as well, although it could be a stylized texture to make it look fancier. A two-piece suit would definitely work - you could have from the neck down as a standard robe with the coif a special hood.

Another thought on this - fire up vanilla OB and go to the Arcane University. There are battlemages guarding and patrolling the entrance as part of the watch. The effect of wearing a hood in place of helm with armor was a direct nod to the look of the battlemages in TES2 - so, is there a way to somehow include that look to preserve continuity?

Alternately, these could also be something that are worn by court battlemages as a sign of station - similar to how medieval knights wore spurs at court and counts, dukes or barons wore coronets (simple crowns) of various sizes and design as symbols of their positions. Thus, the average joe-on-the-street battlemage would wear the hood-and-armor combination while the those attending rulers or nobles would wear this outfit.

(Hmmm... that is a pretty intriguing idea, especially when I visualize a throne room scene using this...)

:)

Nice work!

Good job!

Yay, that'd be cool. Yeah, I saw the Battlemage armor in Arcane Universary, I just never really liked it heh. It just seemed so plain, since Battlemage is kind of an important class imo (given the majority are spellsword / battlemages sort of things, most dont play the pure rogue / mage / warrior things).

But the court mages thing would look awesome! Hmm... just wondering what could be done to make it look more regal

And yes, excellent point about the chain helmet.

That's quite an interesting concept for that armoued robe. There are a couple of things that bother me about it though:

1. It's rather unbalanced - chainmail and a plate paudron would be really heavy, I can imagine someone wearing this to be leaning to one side - perhaps having the chain more like a waistcoat and having pauldrons on both shoulders to balance it a bit.

2. I'd go all or nothing on the hood/coif. It seems a bit illogical to have just part of it chain and the rest cloth.

Just my take on it. Feel free to ignore though - it is a fantasy game after all. Wink

oops, Dur, I totally forgot about this lol.

I actually recall my previous design, I have a better use for it that will surface at a later date.

As for the balence part, I will have that tweeked, and the hood will not be there, but a better headpiece...

It'll make sense, trust me :)

A couple of the nicer concepts made all Official-Fancy-Pants, may do more later.
