Reference - High Rock Timeline (Updated 08 07 2008) |
|
This is a timeline that is being assembled from the various Lore items
that exist. As we discover new things to add to it from the Lore
discussions section, the entries will be appended and updated.
Notes:
1. Sources from in-game book titles from TES2-4 will not have hyperlinks attached to keep things neat.
2. Lore developed specifically for the mod by the modders and the team will be shown in italics with the source given as "Developed Lore" to keep things concise.
Merethic Era (ME)
Circa ME 2500: Supposed date of construction of the Adamantine
Tower on Balfiera Island in High Rock, the oldest known structure of
Tamriel. Earliest historical date in unpublished Elvish chronicles.
Source: http://www.imperial-library.info/history/merethic.shtml
Middle Merethic Era: The Adamantine Tower (on Balfiera Ilse) is
rediscovered and captured by the Direnni, a prominent and powerful
Aldmeri clan. Crystal Tower is built on Summerset Isle and, later,
White Gold Tower in Cyrodiil.
Source: Before the Ages of Man
Late Middle Merithic Era: Trinimac (strongest of the Altmeri
ancestor spirits) and his people (Orsimer or the Pariah Folk) try to
halt Velothi dissident movement. However, Daedric Prince Boethiah as
one of the mastermind of the movement, eats Trinimac. Trinimac's body
and spirit are corrupted, and he emerges as Daedric Prince Malacath.
The rest of his people are changed as well. They are now known as Orcs.

First Era (1E)
1E 10: Torug gro-Igron unites the orcish tribes on the Wrothgarian Mountain, forming the first Orsinium.

1E 240: During the reign of King Vrage, Skyrim extends its
wings… …To the west, Skyrim conquers most of the area now known as High
Rock, which was the territory of Altmer and Nedic peoples (the ancestor
of Bretons and proto-Cyrodiils which have been already living there
among the Elves). The arrival of the Nords upsets the balance of power
between the Nedic people and the Elves. Eventually the Skyrim conquers
High Rock; however, the Direnni (the ruling Altmer clan of High Rock)
still exists and puts great resistance to the Nords. Within a span of
fifty years, Skyrim rules all of northern Tamriel, including most of
present-day High Rock, a deep stretch of the Nibenay Valley, and the
whole of Morrowind. This is known as The First Empire of the Nords.

1E 420: In Skyrim, The War of Succession is finally concluded
with the Pact of Chieftans; henceforth, the Moot is convened only when
a King died without direct heirs. Unfortunately, The Nordic Empire has
lost control of its territories in High Rock, Morrowind, and Cyrodiil.

the earliest occupants of Castle Daggerfall. Aiden Direnni leads the
Dirennis against the Alessians in the final Battle of Glenumbria Moors.
Raven Direnni's magic helps securing the final victory. The Alessian
army is finally destroyed. It is reported that the Chieftain of Skyrim,
Hoag Merkiller is slain the battle. The Skyrim is on the Direnni's side
in this war. Wulfharth of Atmora is elected by the Moot as the new
Chieftain of Skyrim.

1E 498: Although the Direnni Clan won the Battle of Glenumbria
Moors, they cannot regain the power they once have. One by one, the
control falls to the emerging nobility of Greater Bretony, who seized
power throughout most of High Rock within two decades of the Alessian
defeat. In the end, only the Isle of Balfiera is left in their hold.

and Daggerfall rises to become the most powerful kingdom in southern
High Rock.

1E 948: The mighty Orsinium becomes a great threat to the
neighboring kingdoms. King Joile of Daggerfall sends a letter to Gaiden
Shinji of the Order of Diagna, proposing a joint attack on Orsinium.
The alliance is formed, and this effectively reduces the feud between
the Redguard and Breton, and now both races focus on a single common
foe, the Orsinium.
Source: The Pig Children
1E 950-1E 980: The Bretony forces of Daggerfall, the Redguard
army of Sentinel and Order of Diagna join forces to invade Orsinium.
However, the Orcish kingdom of Orsinium proves to be too powerful. The
"Siege of Orsinium" takes a long 30 years, consuming great warriors and
heroes. Among them are the famous swordmaster Gaiden Shinji of the
Order of Diagna. To this day, the Orcs are still renowned for their
battle prowess.

1E 973: Makela Leki's memory stone is found in the Bankorai Pass

she guards the Bankorai Pass from the army of King Joile of Daggerfall,
their own ally in the Siege of Orsinium!

Dagon. During the Morrowind-Cyrodiil war, the Daedric Summoning is
utterly limited due to the Sotha Sil’s pact with the Daedric Princes.
Only Psijics, Sorcerers and Witches are allowed to do the summoning.
Cassyr manipulates one member of the Skeffington Coven witches, blaming
the Coven massacre by the Orcs to the Duke of Mournhold. The hands of
Oblivion work fast, Mehrunes Dagon arrives in Mournhold. He destroys
Mournhold and slays Indoril Brindisi Dorom, The Duke of Mournhold. By
the time Almalexia and Sotha Sil arrive in Mournhold, the entire city
has already in ruins. Two living gods of Morrowind face the Daedric
Prince of Destruction. Eventually the two manages to banish Mehrunes
Dagon back to Oblivion, but the Prince’s work has already finished and
Almalexia is gravely wounded. The epic clash is now memorialized in the
Mournhold Plaza Brindisi Dorom.

Second Era (2E)
2E 431: Civil wars and insurrection dissolve the Tamrielic
Empire. One year after the death of Emperor Potentate Savirien-Chorak,
Orsinium loses the status of Imperial territory.
Sources: Pocket Guide to the Empire (1st Edition): The Wild Regions
2E 798: S'rathra, a Suthay-Raht Khajiit, is born. He is the future Wayrest syndicate boss of Cyrus.
Sources: Pocket Guide to The Empire (1st Edition): Elsweyr
2E 827: Talos (or Hjalti Early-Beard), later is known as Tiber
Septim, the first Emperor of Septim Dynasty, is born. The Pocket Guide
to the Empire (1st Edition): Cyrodiil says he was born in Atmora. The
official Bethesda TES2 hint book, The Daggerfall Chronicles says he is
from Alcaire, High Rock and was born on Midyear 24.
Sources: The Pocket Guide to the Empire (1st Edition), The Daggerfall Chronicles
2E 852: General Talos destroys the allied Nord and Breton in the
citadel of Sancre Tor. The Nord captives and generals eventually join
General Talos’ army. They play a crucial role in General Talos'
succeeding campaigns which consolidated the Colovian and Nibenean into
the core of the Cyrodilic Empire, and which resulting in the crowning
of General Talos as Emperor Tiber Septim.
Sources: The Battle of Sancre Tor, The Legendary City of Sancre Tor
2E 854: The Emperor Cuhlecain (later is known as Emperor Zero)
of Cyrodiil is assassinated by a High Rock nightblade. The assassin
tries to kill General Talos as well, but the great General survives
even though he loses his strong voice due the terrible wound on his
neck. From this moment on, General Talos takes a Cyrodiilic name, Tiber
Septim, and he takes over the throne. This marks the beginning of the
Third Empire.
Source: Pocket Guide to the Empire (1st Edition): Cyrodiil
2E 862: The Empire of Tiber Septim sweeps through the kingdoms of Tamriel in a glorious bid for conquest.
Source: Pocket Guide to the Empire (1st Edition): Hammerfell
2E 896: The Dwemeri artifact, when it was given by Lord Vivec
originally was not perfect. The Imperial engineers under Zurin Arctus,
brings the pieces of Numidium to Halls of Colossus in Elsweyr; where it
was assembled. During the assembly process, another Dragon Break
occurs, although the break is not recorded in any of the Imperial
records; however the Khajiit knows of this break and they suffer from
it. The official Imperial records only state that The Imperial
Battlemage Zurin Arctus sacrifices his heart (life force) to be infused
into a gem called Mantella, and later to be implanted into the Numidium
to make it fully operational. The Numidium proves very effective in
bringing down the mighty Aldmeri Dominion.
The official records also state that after defeating all his enemies,
Tiber Septim uses the Numidium to destroy the neutral royal families of
Tamriel so that he can only enthrone persons he knew to be loyal. This
brings great dispute with Zurin Arctus. The Battlemage then tries to
reclaim his heart. The process devastates Numidium and Zurin Arctus.
The heart they shared blows out of this reality into the netherworld
known as Aetherius. Numidium's body is scattered throughout Tamriel and
the Imperial Battlemage, without his life force goes into a
semi-slumber in a subterranean vault. Zurin Arctus is waiting for an
opportunity to reclaim his heart.
In the centuries that follow, Septim's elite soldiers (The Blades), for
generation after generation, collect the pieces of the Numidium and
became known as the Blades. Zurin Arctus in his undead shape becomes
known as the Underking, and from time to time he sends out his forces
to find the Mantella throughout Tamriel.
There are many speculations on this Numidium issue. From another
account, called Arcturian Heresy, it is written that the Underking is,
in fact, King Wulfharth of Skyrim, a powerful undead being from the
first Era. He is tricked by Tiber Septim and Zurin Arctus, and his soul
is trapped into a gem (the Mantella) to fuel the Numidium. Zurin Arctus
himself is killed on the process. To prevent some political unrest,
Tiber Septim states that Zurin Arctus tried to assassinate him.

High Rock Timeline - 3rd Era |

Third Era (3E)
3E 1: Tiber Septim starts the 3rd Era, a year after he united all Tamriel in 2E 896.
Source: A Brief History of the Empire, Pocket Guide to the Empire (1st Edition): Cyrodiil
3E 120: Kintyra II becomes the next Empress of the Septim
Dynasty. At almost the same moment, Queen Potema, also known as Wolf
Queen, with her allies (Skyrim and a part of Morrowind) launches a
surprising attack on the Empire. This starts the war that is known as
The War of Red Diamond, due to the Red Diamond symbol on the Queen
Potema's banner. Kintyra II with the support of King Magnus of Lilmoth
(Black Marsh), and King Cephorus of Gilane (High Rock) try to uphold
the throne.
Source: A Brief History of the Empire
3E 123: Kintyra II dies at Glenpoint Castle. The day (23rd of
Frost Fall) is now remembered as the day of the Broken Diamonds in High
Rock.
"The exact date of the Empress Kintyra Septim II's execution
in the tower at Glenpoint Castle is open to some speculation. Some
believe she was slain shortly after her imprisonment in the 121st year,
while others maintain that she was likely kept alive as a hostage until
shortly before her uncle Cephorus, King of Gilane, reconquered western
High Rock in the summer of the 125th year. The certainty of Kintyra's
demise rallied many against the Wolf Queen Potema and her son, who had
been crowned Emperor Uriel Septim III four years previously when he
invaded the under-guarded Imperial City."
Sources: Broken Diamonds, The Wolf Queen, The Daggerfall Chronicles
3E 127: War of the Red Diamond ends when Uriel III is defeated
in the Battle of Ichidag by his uncle, Cephorus. The Emperor Uriel III
is captured by the forces of Cephorus. However, during the journey to
Cephorus's castle in Gilane, an angry mob burns Uriel III to death.
Cephorus becomes the next Emperor of the Septim Dynasty

3E 153: Originally Pelagius III is sent to the Asylum of Torval.
After some time in the Torval, a decision is made that the Asylum of
Torval is not in the capacity of dealing with Pelagius' lunacy. So
Pelagius is moved to more secure location. Eventually, Pelagius III
dies in his cell at the Temple of Kynareth in the Isle of Betony.
Pelagius' wife, Katariah is then crowned for the Empress of Tamriel.
Despite of the racist assertions, to the contrary, Katariah's forty-six
years reign is known as one of the most glorious in Tamriel history.
Sources: The Madness of Pelagius, The Asylum Ball, A Brief History of the Empire
3E256: In an act that the Sage Eraintine called "Tiber Septim's
heart beating no more," the Elder Council disinherits Uriel Septim VI's
son Andorak, but grants him the High Rock kingdom of Shornhelm to end
the clashes between Andorak and Cephorus' forces. Andorak's descendants
still rule there to this day and the descendants of his defenders still
populate the city and its area.
Source: Brief History of the Empire (Part 3)
3E 267: The Camoran Usurper is finally defeated by the combined navy of High Rock kingdoms led by Othrok, The Baron of Dwynnen.
"The Baron and his less legendary allies, the rulers of Ykalon,
Phrygia, and Kambria, changed this favorable perception. News of the
Usurper's barbaric treatment of captives and abuse of conquered lands,
mostly true, spread rapidly through their territories, and then to
other neutral lands. Within a few months, the greatest navy ever
combined organized along the High Rock edge of the Iliac Bay. Only the
navy of Uriel V's ill-fated invasion of Akavir is comparable."

3E 319: Arslan II, future husband of Nulfaga and father-to-be of Lysandus is born.
Source: The Daggerfall Chronicles
3E 336: Nulfaga, a powerful sorceress and the mother to the future Daggerfall King Lysandus, is born.

Source: The Daggerfall Chronicles
3E 354: Lysandus, future King of Daggerfall, is born to Arslan II and Nulfaga.
Source: The Daggerfall Chronicles
3E 370: The future TES1: Arena Hero/Eternal Champion is born.
Source: The Daggerfall Chronicles
3E 375: The future TES2: Daggerfall Hero/Uriel Septim VII's Agent is born.
Source: The Daggerfall Chronicles
3E 377: Arslan II of Daggerfall dies.
Source: The Daggerfall Chronicles
3E 381: Gothryd, son of Lysandus and Mynisera, rulers of Daggerfall, is born.
Source: The Daggerfall Chronicles
3E 385: The Duke of Camlorn and his entire family are
assassinated, with the exception of his daughter, Princess Talara. The
assassin confesses that he has thrown her through out the tower window,
however her body cannot be found after the event. The Duke of Oloine,
the brother of Duke of Camlorn takes the throne of Camlorn.
Source: The Mystery of Princess Talara
3E 389: Elysana is born to Carolyna and Eadwyre, rulers of Wayrest.
Source: The Daggerfall Chronicles
3E 389-3E 399: Jagar Tharn uses his magic to assume Emperor
Uriel Septim VII’s form and rules the Empire, in his place. Thus starts
the Imperial Simulacrum. Tharn previously used a powerful artifact, the
Staff of Chaos, to transport Emperor Uriel into another dimension, an
unknown plane of Olbivion. After this Tharn broke the Staff of Chaos
into eight parts and hid them in obscured locations in each of the
eight provinces outside of Cyrodiil. Further, to locate each of the
staff pieces, anyone seeking the staff pieces would have to first gain
knowledge of their whereabouts from portions of the Elder Scrolls held
by various factions within the province in question. In order to do
this, eight more locations must be explored.
The locations to reveal the way to the hiding places of the Staff pieces were:
1. Stonekeep in Hammerfell
2. The Fortress of Ice in Skyrim
3. Selene’s Web in Valenwood
4. The Temple of Agamanus in Elswyr
5. The Temple of the Mad God in Summerset Isle
6. The Mines of Khuras in High Rock
7. The Vaults of Gemin in Black Marsh
8. The Black Gate in Morrowind
The actual hiding places of the staff pieces were:
1. Fang Lair in Hammerfell
2. Labyrinthian in Skyrim
3. Elden Grove in Valenwood
4. The Halls of Colossus in Elswyr
5. The Crystal Tower in Summerset Isle
6. The Crypt of Hearts in High Rock
7. Murkwood in Black Marsh
8. Dagoth-Ur in Morrowind

In an unrecorded year in this chaotic decade, Daedric Prince Mehrunes
Dagon takes over the Battlespire (a proving ground for Imperial
Battlemages) and destroys almost all of the inhabitants inside. One
unknown hero, with the help of the surviving inhabitants of the
Battlespire, daedric treachery and the old man Chimere Graegyn, manages
to vanquish the daedra, but unfortunately the Battlespire is also
destroyed in the process. The old man Chimere Graegyn states that it
was Jagar Tharn who summoned Mehrunes Dagon and asked for assaulting
the Battlespire. This act was necessary for Tharn in order to smoothen
his rule as false Emperor. This is the story of TESL: Battlespire.
Source: Intro to Battlespire.
"...for had not Jagar Tharn been robbed of the support of the
archfiend Mehrunes Dagon and his fell minions, then Ria Silmane and her
champion might never have revealed Tharn's imposture, and long might
the rightful emperor have languished imprisoned in Dagon's dark prisons
within the Void."
- From THE CHRONICLES OF JANISIERE
Chimere Graegyn himself, a powerful Direnni Summoner, had attempted,
before the Battlespire issue, to trick the Daedric Prince Mehrunes
Dagon for a certain profitable reward. He uses an artifact of Daedric
Prince Malacath's creation (some says it's Hircine's creation), Armor
of Savior's Hide to cast Mehrunes Dagon into Oblivion. In the last
critical moment, instead of letting his power drained out, Mehrunes
Dagon used all his remaining power to curse the Summoner. Chimere and
the island where he lives are cast into the void; all the inhabitants
are killed, except Chimere. In the tragic end, Chimere is condemned to
live forever among the ruins of his greatest ambition.
Chimere Graegyn plays a major role in the Battlespire issue. He,
despite his madness, helps the mysterious hero in banishing Mehrunes
Dagon back into Oblivion. He gives the hero a clue of the real name of
Mehrunes Dagon. He also provides the hero some clues about the Armor of
Savior's Hide, which enables the hero to wield the powerful Sword of
Moon Reaver.

3E 392: Greklith is born to Cameron and Akorithi, rulers of
Sentinel. In the same year, Carolyna, Queen of Wayrest and wife of
Eadwyre, dies.

3E 396: The War of the Bend'r-mahk. Skyrim destroys the combined
forces of Hammerfell and High Rock. The eastern part of Dragonstar City
of Hammerfell falls to the Skyrim force led by General Duvais; while
the Hammerfell force regroups and defends the western region of the
city. Both forces build walls that separate the city permanently into
two regions. The wall that separates the city still exists to this day,
and the eastern region is still occupied by Skyrim – creating a
political obstacle between the two Provinces.

3E 397: Shadowmage Skelos Undriel is on the run, with agents of
the Battlemage Jagar Tharn in close pursuit. He flees from the center
of the Tamrielic Empire to the Western Reach, where the borders of High
Rock, Hammerfell and Skyrim meet. These three regions are engaged in a
bitter conflict, The War of the Bend'r-mahk. Undriel manages to recruit
a young adventurer to collect magical objects called Shadowkey and in
turn to gather Star Teeth. With the help from Azra Nightwielder (the
greatest of Shadowmages), the young adventurer manages to collect all
the Star Teeth, destroys Tharn's underlings and defeats the daunting
shadow power of Umbra'Keth in the Crypt of Hearts in eastern High Rock.
Source: The Story of Shadowkey, Shadowkey Books
3E 399: A mysterious hero manages recover the eight pieces of
the Staff of Chaos with the help of the ghost of Ria Silmane, the
former sorceress of the Empire, Queen Barenziah and King Eadwyre of
Wayrest. The hero defeats Jagar Tharn in the final showdown in the
Imperial Palace dungeon and releases Uriel Septim VII from the
dimensional prison. The hero is later famous as the Eternal Champion,
but still, no one knows who exactly the champion is. There is rumor
that his name is Talin, one of Uriel VII's bodyguards, but there is no
official writing about this claim.

In the same year, Gortwog wins the Orsinium area after he defeated Lord
Bowyn of Wayrest in a fair competition. This marks the start of the
rise of Orcish race. From that moment on, he works hard for Orsinium to
be accepted as one of the Tamriel Provinces.

3E 401: Nulfaga of Daggerfall, finds the exact location of the
Mantella - the heart of Numidium. At this time the Blades have managed
to collect most of the Numidium pieces and even the Totem of Tiber
Septim is already in their grasp. Nulfaga promises to tell the location
to the Blades so oong as none of of Daggerfall's strongholds are not be
destroyed. The Emperor cannot accept this and then he sends a letter to
the Lady Brisienna Magnessen. Lady Brisienna is the sister of the Great
Knight of the Blades and has already infiltrated Daggerfall court; the
letter asks her to do anything necessary to get the location of the
Mantella. Although, the letter is addressed to the Queen of Daggerfall,
The Emperor knows that the letter should arrive in Lady Brisienna's
hands first.
3E 402: War of Betony begins, between Sentinel of Hammerfell and
Daggerfall of High Rock. Lord Mogref of Betony Island agrees to vassal
himself and the rest of Betony to King Lysandus of Daggerfall for
monetary reasons. King Camaron of Sentinel objects.
3E 403: During the War of Betony, the Lord of Reich Gradkeep
(Anticlere) tries to facilitate the peace negotiation between two
warring city-states. In the appointed day, King Lysandus of Daggerfall
and King Camaron of Sentinel meet at the Palace of Reich Gradkeep for a
truce. However this treaty is never to be. Daggerfall Priest Vanech
considered the Betony to be a holy land of Kynareth; any attempt to
give up the island is blasphemous for him. Vanech fakes the treaty, and
this false treaty offends Lysandus. The room disrupts into chaos. King
Camaron knows of Vanech's treachery, pursues and finally slays the
priest. However, a great riot breaks throughout the Reich Gradkeep
capitol and the entire ruling family is killed. The only surviving
member of the ruling family of Reich Gradkeep is a sickly infant, so
the councilors of the state choose Lord Auberon Flyte to rule the
lordship in regency. This state is now known as Anticlere, in honor of
the Flytes' ancestral home.
The war continues to its climax on the Field of Cryngaine . King
Lysandus is slain in the battlefield. Gothryd, son of King Lysandus, is
crowned King of Daggerfall. Inspired with the new King's bravery the
Daggerfall force fights with new determination. Lord Bridwell, the
leader of the Knights of the Dragon, slays King Camaron. The Sentinel
army retreats in disorder. Lord Oresme of Sentinel surrenders; he later
commits suicide in the way back to Sentinel.
"Peace was a difficult process for the cities and towns on
both sides of the Iliac Bay. As part of the formal peace treaty, King
Gothryd asked for the hand of Princess Aubk-i, only daughter of the
late King Camaron and the Queen Regent Akorithi. The request was
intended to restore friendship between the kingdoms, and it was
partially successful though many in the royal court of Sentinel viewed
the princess as more a prisoner of war than a bond to Daggerfall."

3E 404: Gothryd marries Aubk-i. Aubk-i is now the Queen of
Daggerfall. The letter from The Emperor Uriel Septim VII is delivered
to her, preventing Lady Brisiena from learning of its contents.
Confused by the contents of the letter, she eventually sells it to the
highest bidder: King Gortworg of the Orsinium. Gortworg has no idea
what the Mantella is; he consults the King of Worms. The previously
confidential information about Numidium begins to spread.
The former King of Daggerfall, Lysandus, rises as ghost and, an army of
specters and wraiths, he starts to haunt the streets of Daggerfall
crying for vengeance. Many of the city guard attempt to stop the
haunting only to have their souls soon join the unholy army. The
popularity of King Gothryd decreases greatly as he cannot stop the
undead; rumors begin to circulate claiming that King Gothryd killed his
own father in the Battle of Cryngaine Field, causing the deceased King
to return.
3E 405: A mysterious agent is sent by Uriel Septim VII to
investigate the death of King Lysandus and to find the missing letter
the Emperor sent to the Queen of Daggerfall.

In the same year in Camlorn, Lord Strale, an Imperial Ambasador, proves
that the brother of the late Duke of Camlorn (the current Duke of
Oloine) is the man behind the assassination of the late Duke. Lord
Strale then arrests the royal family with the help of Lady Brisienna's
nightblades. Princess Talara, the missing daughter of the late Duke of
Camlorn takes the throne. She was disguised by her nursemaid as Jyllia
Raze, Duke of Oloine's own daughter.

3E 417: In the Iliac Bay region, the agent that the Emperor sent
uncovers the truth: King Lysandus was not killed by Sentinel Army in
the Battle of Cryngaine. Instead a minor lord of Wayrest, Lord
Woodborne, murdered him in a twist of regional politics. After the
agent avenges King Lysandus, the army of undead haunting Daggerfall is
put to rest.
The second quest The Emperor gave to the agent leads to the
reactivation of the Numidium (also referred to as Anumidum), the giant
Dwemeri construct that helped Tiber Septim conquer all Tamriel at the
end of second era (known as the First Numidian Effect). After the agent
found the Totem of Tiber Septim which is needed to control the
Numidium, several factions of the High Rock and Hammerfell visited him
offering wealth, power and fame for exchange for the Totem. These
factions include: King Gothryd of Daggerfall, Queen Akorithi of
Sentinel, King Eadwyre of Wayrest, the Blades, the King of Worms
(Mannimarco of the Necromancers), the Underking, and King Gortwog of
Orsinium.
In the end, after the agent gives the Totem to one of the factions (no
one knows which one for certain), Nulfaga then transports the agent to
Mantellan Crux, a netherworld also known as Aetherius. Here, the agent
seeks to recover the Mantella, since it is the heart that can make the
Numidium functional.
To whom the Mantella is given, is also a mystery, but the rumors say
that six Numidium are seen in six different places at once, each one
carving out a different mortal's destiny. The strange phenomenon later
can be seen in the following events:
- the western portion of High Rock is unified.
- the Orcs of Orsinium have been acknowledged by the Septim's Dynasty as Imperial Citizens.
- some rumors say that the Sload of the coral kingdoms of Thras worship a new God of Worms.
- the Underking gets his long-missing heart, and he dies a mortal death giving him the peace that he desires.
This confusing event comes to be known as "The Warp in the West". The
Jills of Akatosh mend the paradox it caused, in which six different
Numidiums existed and were used simultaneously. The mending creates a
"compromise reality" in which all of the factions completed only a few
of the objectives they wanted. Thus, only half of Mannimarco became a
god, and each of the cities of the Iliac Bay merely crushed the small
states around them, not all of the other nations as they would have
preferred. The only person who got exactly what he wanted was the
undead Underking, Zurin Arctus. He used the power of his timeline's
Numidium to become mortal again and finally dies. However, even the
Jills could not fix the damage Numidium did neatly, leaving hundreds of
fractures, scars and weak points in time.
The Warp, which is occured on the 10th of Frostfall, is also known as
the Miracle of Peace. Before it, High Rock was fractured with hundreds
of small squabbling states. After the Warp, the western portion of the
province consists only Daggerfall, Wayrest, Camlorn and Orsinium. There
are no more disputed territories, and the kingdoms of the western
portion of the province hold their new borders in relative peace.
"Among the most significant results of the Second Numidian
Effect are the foundation of the orc city-state Nova Orsinium; the
transfiguration and apotheosis of Mannimarco, King of Worms; and the
return of Zurin Arctus, the Underking, to the affairs of men."
