Original sketch:

Labelled version of TOYB's map:
http://img253.imageshack.us/my.php?image...elledmapsf2.jpg
Buildings:
Gortwog's Palace
Original version from Daggerfall to be used as concept art.
Inhabitants: Gortwog, his wife and family, his close advisors and
personal guards and servants (see attached file)
Temple of Trinimac
Inhabited by the Primate of Trinimac (see attached file) and several
assistant priests and priestesses. Also contains the Great Library of
Orsinium.
Statue of Trinimac
Just over the entrance of the Temple.
Shows the god-hero weeping for his loss of immortality.
Great Tower
A sinister structure which is very important to plot development.

Statue of Torug gro-Igron
Patriotic statue of the founder of the original orsinium, in a heroic pose.
Statue of the Last King of Orsinium
Tragic statue of the last King (ancestor of Gortwog's wife) being shot up by arrows.
gro-Duhl's Mansion
Home of Gortwog's economic minister Roland gro-Dulh (see attached file).
Very wealthy (courtable NPC)
http://img236.imageshack.us/my.php?image...lockfortjz5.jpg
House of the Order of the Bitter Tear
Exclusive club for Gortwog's personal knightly order [joinable faction
- player is given membership automatically after performing quests for
Gortwog]. Contains training rooms, beds and dining hall.
Naw-Durg clan stockade
A very poor clan, their home is made from roughly finished wood.
Several goblins and an ogre also live here. Flies the old flag of
orsinium in a gesture of defiance against the King's new religion.
Royal Clan stockade
Gortwog's distant relatives, the orcs who live here are a privileged
elite. This is one of the finest buildings in the city, and its
inhabitants were among the first to begin worshipping Trinimac.
go-Ghala clan stockade
As the clan of the city's Champion, this lot are respected, but are not
very wealthy. Their stockade is made of a mixture of wood and iron.
Neutral in the city's religious struggles. They keep a few goblin
servants. (possible courtship)
gro-Chun clan
The wealthiest clan in the city, their stockade is extravagantly made
from finest wrought iron. They made their name by supporting early and
strongly the alliance with Wayrest, and are eager to increase their
influence further. (possible courtship)
Jurl clan stockade
Due to their close links with the goblins and Reachmen, there are
always a few ambassadors in this stockade. Made from a mixture of wood
and iron.
gro-Rottag forges
The largest and best forge in the city. Here, the player can have
custom orcish armour made (in either light or heavy armour styles). It
has a superior armour rating but is very costly.

Hall of Artisans
Home to several wealthy traders, not all of them orcs. All sell fine
produce. Generic orc armour and weapons can be bought here, among many
other things.
Market stalls
Come here to buy food, magical supplies, household equipment and so on.
Nomad quarter
Inhabited by reachmen, goblins, ogres and one or two minotaurs.

This is excellent work! Between the concept art for the city, the heraldry ideas and the writeup, I am most impressed!
(Don't worry about the roughness of the city sketch - mine is nowhere near as good.
)
I'm going to see what I can cook up for the heraldry based on what you have given us to play with here. This is going to be fun!

The separation of a lore-defined Daedra is a problem, which you could
overcome through vagueness? You could make it unclear whether or not
the experiment worked? After all, what noticable (to the populace)
changes would it make.
Excellent ideas and info all in all, I especially like the bit about
the Rasputin type figure. In fact, (just thought of this right now)
what if the King has been tricked by him, and that Birridil of
Karnwasten is really hoping to make himself a daedra, similiar to the ideas of the Psyjic order.
Perhaps its almost too large a quest to do for one city, especially as it does away with the whole Orc societal collapse idea
still, I really enjoyed reading these ideas!

I actually think merging those three districts is quite a good idea. If
I had to reduce the size of the city plan, that would be the way I
would have done it as well.
Nicely done as always!
I will have some more concept art for you soon.

The text you write is just another piece of evidence how big potential this city has for greatness.

Done. Also check out the concept art pictures. I apologise for the low
quality as I still have no access to a scanner and had to photograph
them, and the light in this room is a bit messed up. Will try to
replace them with better pictures soon. |
