Courtship Questline:
This is the only Orsinium courtship quest where you don't need to be a
renowned warrior. However, it helps. First, you have to remove the
competition, and there is a lot. Plenty of suitors want Roland's hand
in marriage - fortunately they are mostly effete nobles and
politicians. Beating them in single combat should not be too much of a
challenge. Additionally, Roland already has three orc wives, and
depending on how well the player gets on with them, they may have to
fight a wife or two as well.
Impressed by this achievement, Roland invites the player to dinner at
his mansion, where the player will need to demonstrate a good knowledge
of current politics by responding to questions in order to maintain his
interest. If the player does well enough, Roland will suggest the
player proves their worthiness to wed him in traditional orc fashion.
However, unlike the other orc courtship quests, Roland wants the player
to prove their power and influence, rather than their skill as a
warrior. As a "gift", he wants a trade agreement with at least one city
other than Wayrest. If the player is successful, Roland will consent to
marry them.
Roland gro-Duhl will pay for the wedding himself. It is a traditional
orc wedding, where you must fight him to claim him as husband, but he's
not much of a challenge. Following the wedding, the player can move
into Roland's mansion. The place is luxurious, more like a palace, but
doesn't have the services available in the other city mansions. |
