Property Owned: Large mansion in the centre of Orsinium.
Political Standing: Low, but he's rich and spends quite freely.
Requirements to Court NPC: Show some interest in him
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Character Biography: The broken-down old uncle of the City Champion,
Ottar is a somewhat pathetic figure, but used to be a globetrotting
mercenary before he was crippled in a particularly nasty battle. Now
he's lonely and in search of companionship. Has a fascination with
[insert player race here] girls.

Courtship Questline:
If the player visits the gro-Ghala mansion, and they're female, this
guy will pester them non-stop. They can either tell him where to put
it, or pretend to be flattered at his compliments. If so, he will
invite the player out on a date in the city market. He gives the player
money to buy fine clothes (they must wear clothes of above a certain
quality on the date).
During the date, he will regale the player with war stories. If the
player makes a good enough show of being interested, the courtship
begins in earnest. Like other orcs, he will expect the player to bring
him proof of great deeds, but his requirements in this are relatively
modest. Once his disposition reaches a high enough level, the player
can ask about marriage, but then he drops the bombshell:
He expects his wife to be able to cook. In particular, a stew of fresh
bear hearts, his favourite dish. There will be a scripted stove in the
mansion's kitchen which is an activator - the player activates it and
depending on how many of the ingredients they tracked down, they will
get a stew or varying quality put into their inventory.
The way to a man's heart is through his stomach, and if he's satisfied
he will consent to marry the player. As usual, the player has to fight
him to claim his hand, but he's so feeble you have to be quite careful
not to do any permanent damage. If he survives this ordeal, the player
can move into the gro-Ghala mansion and a grateful Ottar will
periodically buy the player presents (mostly clothes and jewellery, but
sometimes something more interesting like a magic ring) |
