History of the Hall of Ancients
Dunmer Historian: Steinaech
[date]
Long to be thought of as the Gateway to the city of Kedal, the Hall of
Ancients has been rumored to be the House of those that have passed
away within the city. There have been few to say they have seen this
Hall of Ancients, but upon their telling of it, have wound up dead.
Certainty of this place is scarce.
It is believed, that when a person that lives in the city passes away,
they are taken to the Hall of Ancients where the most horrid of rituals
is enacted. The persons flesh and organs are ripped clean from their
body till there is nothing but bone and cartilage. The body of bones is
taken to the Undercroft, were it is passed through a vile ritual. The
?spirit? that is said to be imbued with all those who live in the city,
is ripped from the body's soul, and tormented. Since the spirit cannot
change its alliance, it merely becomes aggressive toward all but its
own kin, and attack anything on site.
The spirit is then infused to the body again, reanimating the body.
These new soldiers become the Protectors of Kedal. These Protectors
have guarded Kedal for 1000 years, since its founding by the Chimer.

The Battle of Shadowforge Part 1: Written by Forsena
quote: |
"No... no no no, you can't be serious...?" she said, her disposition
changing from it's normal glow down to a state of mourning. Her eyes
stuck to the soldier silently praying for this to be some sort of sick
joke.
"I am afraid so, the whole area is under their control now. We
were helpless to stop the assault..." the soldier said in a heavily
accented voice, he wasn't used to speaking in Common but he was
required now that she was here.
"There are... no survivors?" she asked, desperately. Her voice quivered and cracked, "none... at all?"
The soldier shifted his weight, he was beginning to get annoyed.
"High Warden, I am very sorry but there are no survivors. Warden
Kvairkyn has already sent divisions four and seven to the vestibule.
Now if you have any more questions I would suggest going there
yourself, I have to get to my duties." The soldier turned and left the
room, hoping Maria wouldn't require further of him.
"Spirit protect us... how could this happen..." she whispered as
she sat back down to her dinner, a small pile of assorted mushrooms and
a glass of water, that had been interrupted.
She ate the rest of her meal in silence, pondering what to do
next. The Shadowforge was said to be impenetrable, but somehow the
demons had found a way in. If the demons found the secret to the
weapons that the Kydallins used against them... the war could be over
in hours.
The whole city pondered why she helped them, as she was a Bosmer in a
land of Dunmer. Sometimes she even wondered why she helped them seeing
as they were so hostile. But, sadly enough, Maria was the only way the
Kydallins were going to win this war, so she stayed out of pity. At
least that was what Steinaech told them.
In truth, they had never really seen Maria fight. They had no idea
if she was really a skilled demon hunter, or was just a face to rally
the troops. For this reason, the whole Blade of Illi did not trust her.
But there was nothing Maria could do about it for Steinaech forbid her
from entering battle, for what reason she did not know...
"High Warden..."
Maria looked around surprised, as she had forgotten exactly where
she was. The source was one of her guards, put there by Steinaech and
were required to stay with her at all times.
"Yes, Kva...irkyn?" she managed to stutter out, she wasn't quite used to Kydallin names yet.
The young guard winced as she turned her gaze to him, her icy blue
eyes were worlds apart from the usually black and brown eyes of the
Kydallins. His gaze fell to the ground as he spoke. "Do you wish for an
escort to the Shadowforge, ma'am?"
She was slightly surprised about this comment, usually her guards
were unassertive. Mostly because they really didn't want to be her
guard in the first place. Nonetheless, Maria smiled and nodded, glad
that maybe the Kydallins were getting used to her.
She lifted herself from the chair and dismissed her guards, saying
that she would be ready shortly. She locked her door quickly and walked
over to her bed where she crouched down.
Maria paused for a moment, listening for any signs of movement
towards her door. After a good minute, she took a gulp of air and
began. Whispering a few words a strange symbol appeared on the ground
next to her bed, Maria reached her hand out and began tracing the
symbol, saying a few more words the symbol began to pulsate. As she
continued it began to glow, and pulsate faster, and faster, and faster
until...
Maria's hand rested on top of a large chest. She gasped for air,
but at the same time she opened the chest quickly, retrieving and runed
silver claymore and bow, along with a quiver of arrows. With a snap of
her fingers the chest was gone, and she heaved the weapons onto her
back, positioning them for her own comfort, and then ran to the door
and opened it quickly, knowing that soon someone would come check on
her.
Sure enough, when she got to the guild hall's lobby her escort
group was looking impatient. She muttered an apology and walked out the
door, her entourage following closely. |

Afraid of that. That makes a nonsense of the Story I wrote, or maybe my
story just could not fit in - either way you are welcome to use the
absorbtion of the spirit essence for your evil doings - I think it will
be fine as a potential happening in other parts of Nirn too, but in
different ways.

Hmmmm, Would have had to totally rewrite what I had, but now have an
idea about following it with a second story - but need info this time:
Need screenie of the abovegraound Wider General Area with location of Kedal superimposed
Need maps and dates for Soluthis - when built, etc. If destroyed, then
date for that also. Do not want to write something that just does not
fit.

Your not telling me why it doesnt make sense that they built a path to get to the city after the cave in...
Anyway, while reading the Oblivion Collectors Edition Handguide I
realized something, During the war between the Dwemer and the Chimer
the Neravar was killed and so, it is possible that the one who released
the Spirit to all the Kedalins was the Neravar, becuase it is unknown
if he died in battle or later according to the guide.
So Neravar would be his name in Tamrielic or whatever the "language" is and in Kedalin it would be Niyravyryin.

that is what I need the info for. The Kedalin were
cursed never to leave the City right? So who tried to break in? And
when and how - did they dig through half a mountain?

Nerevar was a 'simple' Indoril soldier who came to the
attention of almalexia and rose through the ranks. During his life he
focused on Red Mountain and Mournhold. It is not that he could not
have, but more that he was not a dark wizard, and your city seems to
have been founded before the battles with the Dwemer at Red Mountain.
Further he always considered himself a Dwemer Friend. I think that it
might work better Lore wise to keep the story as is and do a follow up.
If you can find that Soluthis / Kedal Location Map that would be a great help.

After the cave in, they had to build a tunnel out, they had not been
cursed yet. They were not cursed until later one, when of which I have
not decided yet. |

The Cladd'rret, Family of the Void
[MOD](Cladd'rret translates into Warriors of the Void)[/MOD]
The warriors of the void, or the Cladd'rret by common undertounge is
the name of my family. We were dispatched hundreds of years ago as
ambassodors of protection and vigilance, and that which we fight, the
foe of the void, is for the protection of the city of Kedal, deep and
truthful, and aye, we fight for it's own thriving.
The halls of our house are expansive only to meet the void in which we
fight to protect it against. All our warriors are trained from that of
a babe to defend that which is ours, and though the women folk are
discouraged to fight due to their essential value, they are not
rejected.
We have held arms for hundreds of years to fight back the foes of the
void. Cries are heard throughout the halls of our victories against the
damned foe that would travel to our plane.
Thus we leave you with this truth, that all dunmer who live calloused
underneath the earth, thrive in purity, for you know of that which
holds you fast, the blade of the Cladd'rret! Long live the line of the
Warriors of the Void! |

What void are we talking about here? Is that supposed to be talking about the Protectors of Kedal?

An analogy to "They are under constant siege of the Guardians of the
Dark Oasis of which the Dark Wizard has broken open the portal to." |
