| Defining Qualities of the Holds |

I think we need to decide on defining qualities for each of the Nordic
Holds. For example, each needs to have some kind of major export/source
of income of some sort. Each needs to have some special foods, drinks,
ect. that it produces. Each hold needs to have a unique set of armor
that is crafted there, and each hold needs to have some kind of soldier
that its famous for (i.e. Berserkers, Sharpshooters, Heavy Cavarly,
ect.)
Here are my thoughts for Riften:
Export/Income: Riften doesn' really export anything, but rather,
they make most of their profits off of taxes from traders passing
through the gorge, mercernaries hired out for protection, taverns,
inns, ect. So Riften makes profit off of Services.
Special Foods: Maybe those furry lobsters that Gal (I think it was her) that were posted a while ago
Armor: I'm thinking something heavy for Riften, how about the concept armor I posted a while back with the winged helm?
Soldiers: I don't know why but for some reason I'm feeling
Riften should be famous for their heavy infantry, though archers could
work well too. |

Do you think that Riften's current conditions will be affected by the
warring with Morrowind, considering it is very near the border? I kinda
pictured any hold near the border of Morrowind (Riften, Windhelm, etc.)
to be under a martial law (for lack of a better word). I picture extra soldiers, even militia, assembled as well as extra fortifications.
I know this doesn't apply to the hold's imports/exports, but it could
definitely change how trade and travel through the hold is affected.
I could be jumping the gun on the severity of the fighting with Morrowind....just let me know if I am

I don't know a lot about the fighting with Morrowind, but I don't think
any of the holds are formally attacking, but rather its sailors and
reavers, I could be wrong though. |

Sieg the fighting is Huge if Nords are allying with orcs they def mean to take something or to kill someone

I doubt this is a full scale war between Skyrim and House Redoran.
Sounds more like a skirmish between Soltsheim Nords, other independent
Nords and Redoran. Anyway, the Nords are on the rise again...

acutualy what it sounds like is a small border incedent thats been blown out of proportion with the rumor mill
