Hmm, thats a really great idea Vrenir. I don't think Mythic Dawn is actually left over from the Ayleids, but rather inspired by there art style, and then has some "evil cultist" elements thrown into it. How about for an explanation: When the the ancient Aldmeri society split and the different Elven groups parted ways and headed to their future homes, they took with them there champions. A champion in Aldmeri society had to excell above there brethren in all arts, and pass a series of rigorous tests, finally distinguishing themselves in battle to acquire the title "champion". On the battle field champions were recognized by a unique suit of armor covered in designs, they were given a helmet carved in the likeness of the champion's face, and over top they wore a hood, cape, and robe. After the split the orders of Elven champions developed uniquely from there counterparts, creating unique standards, and adding in elements from there new homes to there armors to give a "Falmer" or "Dunmer" look to their garb, and distinguish themselves from their wayward siblings.

I like it. Can we put this theory out in the Tavern? If we don't try to establish it as an official stance, then it won't matter much.

Incidentally, this would also open up a cool new collection for armor cleptos: the Elven Heroes Collection. Go to each type of ruin to find a complete set for each ancient faction! Since they are all similar, they could even go well together visually if you wanted to mix and match the pieces you find.
