Looking good TOYB
Could you put in a trader for this Fighter's Guild quest?
quote: |
Debtrimental Debt
Retrieve debt money from a trader in Greewood. Persuade, threaten
,steal etc. until you get the money. Also, if you cajole enough you can
get an item from the trader. Go to the FG agent in the mead hall/inn in
Greenwood to get a monetary reward and continue on to Sungard. |

There is already a trader their, he is a sweet old man. He owns a
workshop and builds manythings, currently his nephew is living with him
as an aprentice. Also do you need me to put in a FG member in the mead
hall?

Yes please, no-one special just an ordinary Nord.

Sure. Is he a resident of Greenwood, or is he just staying at the mead hall for a time? At any rate I will put him in.
Also what is the debt for?
Edit 2006.08.06 01:10
Here is the latest version of Greenwood. I should have all of the Ints
done and finished by the end of this week. Also I have put the
fighter's guild operative in the Tavern.
Also I need these signs (Retex of Bruma Signs); "Greenwood", "Ryn's Bed & Breakfast", "Hiriygg's Workshop".
P.S. The Fighter's Guild Operative is an Imperial and his name is
Hamish Utilies, for the time being. If you want me to change it I can
and will.

Just staying for a while. And the debt is owed to a noble from Riften.
Perhaps it was money for shamans/witch doctors (whatever they're called
in Skyrim) to save his wife from a terrible illness? They had a happy
few years together but she was a shell of her former self. Blah, blah,
blah etc. etc.
I'm open to ideas if you don't like that

I would like it to have something to do with his nephew, like his
Nephew had got a bounty on his head and so he went to his uncle for
money, but then the uncle didn't have enough money so got a loan, but
then couldn't repay it.

Sounds good and the nephew actually has something to do with the quest rather than being an NPC on the side.

Here is the newest version, Greenwood is now in the Skyrim worldspace.
I still have to do some more lanscaping and detailing of the wilderness
around it. The Ints are now all linked up. Most of Npcs are there.
Everything apart from Dialouge, RAI and quests should be done in under
a week. And hopefully it will be completly finished around the time
Haerter's Gap is finished.
P.S. I'm beating you Psychotic
Also I'm probably going to need to find a hosting site soon(It's already 356 KB!!!!!!!!)

Looking very good TOYB! The town shouldn't be under snow. Originally it
was meant to be in an Aspen/Birch Forest, but the elevation on the
Heightmap came out to be significantly higher than I planned, so if you
want you can use pine trees. |

The town isn't under snow, it just has a few snowy patches here and there as it is at the bottom of the jerals.

There shouldn't be snow though, it should be very Green. Also could a
texturer put the Reich Corigate Roof Textures onto the Bruma homes for
me? |

There are a ton of variants for most town's name. For example I've also
seen Greenwood called Greenwatch. I've seen Reich Corigate called Reich
Cangate. Going from Greenwood's high up location that might be a better
name for it, as it has a view of the surrounding areas.
BTW could you create a path leading down to the river, and set up a small beach/location for boats to dock.

Yeah I started on making a path after I uploaded the last version. It will take me a while to finish.

No great rush, but they'll be used in Greenwood and Riften. So sooner is better.

Cool, but instead of bringing it through the master fille I think I
will bring it through the .esp, as downlding the mster file on dial up
is a killer for computers.
Edit 2006.08.08 10:53:
Here is the latest version, with a path going down the cliff/mountain,
and if someone says there is anything wrong with the path I will cut
them into little tiny pices then feed it to my dog(As I just spent 5
hours straight working on it)....
I'm going to sleep now and when I wake up I will probably find myself at the computer....Sleep modding, one can only dream
Edit: I'm so tired I forgot to attach it
also the file is 1.5 KB off 500
Edit 2006.08.08 21:22:
Here is a more refined version. I need to make two more Ints but I
think I'm going quite well. more than half of the Ints still need to be
detailed. Also I'm not going to be foresting the whole area, I will
leave that up to an exterior modder or the HM generator, as I don't
know the exact tree around the area, and it all needs to blend in. I
should have this ready for Dialouge and quests by the end of the week
still
Also I .rar'd it this time
so that means I will still be able to upload it to here for a while longer

zipped and r'ared
Reviewing now.
Edit: My review- Looking very good, don't worry about laying down any
more trees, I can handle that with the region editor. The ship feels a
bit to big, but its OK for now. It brings up a very important job for
us though: Longships
What's a Nord without their Longship? When one of our modelers has some
free time I'll see if they can get one done. Later on I'll ask you to
remove the snowy-roofed buildings once I get the snowless roof variants
added into the resource master file, along with the trees with snow on
their branches and snow ground textures. Maybe lighten
The path looks great, reminds me of the concept by Sulan of that city
on the hill, at first I was worried about Greenwood's altitude, but it
is turning out great. Could you make the path back to town better
visible? I assume it's because you've reached the max texture count for
a cell, I try and find the technique to delete textures from cells.
BTW the dead deer is a very Nordic touch...

I am bringing the snowless variant of the arcitecture in through the
.esp(doing so this very second), it will make sure I name it something
diffent from what will be in the resource file so not to cause any
glitchs(1SKGreenwoodHouse(Class)(Number) if that's alright with you) I
will also make sure it goes under the directory, Arcitecture - 1SK -
Greenwood - (Object).
Also the reson why the .zip is in the .rar is that I tried to upload
the .zip but then relised this Web Site didn't support it, so I dropped
it into a .rar....

Get the 7Z program, much higher compression, much easier to use in my humble opinion.

Here is a verbal update for you.
There is now a tower, and five Burial Tombs going along the path. Only
one burial Tomb has an Int, and it is a fairly big one(A mass one for
the commoners of greenwood, the other ones will be for specific
familes/Heros/Cheiftens). The tower also does not have an Int left,
when it is made however it will house the greenwood guards(Their most
important job is not protecting greenwood but protecting the burial
tombs from grave robbers and maintaining them, I hope that a theives
guild mission will revolve around stealing from one
). I have replaced all of the buildings with versions without snow(Courtesy of Psychotic
), though I will have to remake the tavern int because of this as I
replaced all the bruma lower class buildings with stock lower class
ones. Also the Dock keepers House still needs to be made(basement
included), I will not make an Int for the boat, as it will have to be
replaced eventually with a new longboat model, I will however give it
doors that need a key and not put the key ingame. Also as for the
location of the Tombs, they are along the path down the mountain.
I will post an .esp once I get a filefront account

Ok cool, do you still have a version with the Bruma lowerclass
buildings? Because I requested that Blaze, the guy that joined last
night put the snowless thatch textures on them, so I'm hoping you could
keep the old ones and replace them soon. |

O.K. I'm going to be scraping all work done on Greenwood so far, the reasons being.
1) It uses Bruma Architecture and should use the Riften set.
2) It relies on the previous HM.
3) a lot has changed in the time since it was first made.
I'm going to try and get the same effect I had before, but because of the architecture it will probably be a lot differnt.

Why not use the Bruma architecture, it's the only place that will use it in The Rift.
The Riften architecture is already used in Riften and in Reich
Corigate, using the Bruma architecture will give Greenwood uniqueness
(to some extent).

Agreed. I don't know why we're totally boycotting Bruma architecture.
At least have it somewhere and anyway, isn't Bruma the most Nordic
architecture in Cyrodiil?

We are using it, it is the sole architecture in Eastmarch.
I am using LC Bruma still and I have retexed the roofs of the Riften MC
with the bruma snowy roof so it does look abit like Bruma styled stuff.
Also you have to remember that Greenwood is part of the Rift and should
rightly be using Riftens architecture (to some extent) anyway. It is
looking quite unique already but it also needs to relate to Riften.
