ok...I'll edit the post again and replace some effects with one or two negative effects...

Before I start though, are you talking about Damage etc.. I.e

Detect Life
Damage Health
Restore Fatigue
Light
(This is just made up btw)

and other kinds as well such as drain. because from what I recall, you can not get negative effects in potions which effect you, only negative effects wich effet the enemy (unless you make a potion out of the poisond apple...)

just to clear that up...

Cheers

True, but you can make potions to poison your blade. When I mentioned negative effects I meant for the raw ingredients.

If you need to edit your OP (Original post) after the 2880 minutes thing, you can usually ask someone with moderator-ship to edit it for you. Just letting you know. :) (In this case, Siegfried is the moderator of this board, so... yeah..., but I have moderator powers too, so if he's offline and I'm online, feel free to drop me a PM)

The juice from these petals, if consumed, makes you faster, and more accurate, but weakens you considerably.

Fortify Speed
Fortify Agility

Found in the most remote area's of skyrim, this flower gives the consumer the ability to see in the dark!

Damage Fatigue
Silence
Night eye
Burden

Kromlek Plant

A common yellow flower found throughout Skyrim, Kromlek was named after the alchemist Alberique Kromlek, who discovered the plant.

Damage Fatigue
silence
Fortify Health
invisibility

Cruachan

Part of a plant know fully as Cruachaianes Bane, this part is the only usefull alchemical ingrediant on the flower.

Fortify Fatigue
Detect Life
Feather
Damage Speed

Gauhaert

Only the Brave, or the foolish would go looking for this plant, as only three have ever been found in Tamriel, in Skyrims most remote regions, but If found, the user will be VERY lucky indeed.

I Don't want to put down the effects for this as I would to debate with people about it. Think of this as a SUPER plant, rarer and more effective than Nirnroot (If you can get better??)

Odroerir Root

Again, The Odroerir plant is not so common in Skyrim, but can be found if you look hard enough.

Restore Fatigue
Reflect Damage
Fire Damage
Burden

Rotworm (old mans fungus)

This fungus grows almost only on rotting wood, or trees (logs would be perfect for this). It has a dusty scent, and is often hit with sticks by children as a practical joke to a nearby friend, as the relatively harmless dusty spores, explode into the air. It is dark orange/brown.

Drain intelligence
Restore Personality
Restore Magicka
Feather

I will do some concepts for these, once I find something to colour with.

That was the plan.

EDIT:
http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/3997/bo...tberrieskp8.jpg

I know they are bad and for added insult they are done in pastels but I think you get the general idea anyway.

Bodom petals - I tired to give a warm glow to.

Frost berries - I figured they would be pretty generic

Oh yea, could you describe the ingredients a bit more in future, some of them just have history, I don't mind inventing the look of the plant but I don't want to contradict your ideas.

EDIT:
did a couple of others

Seychelles Plant

the petals of this plant are like big purple bobbles.

Bodom Petals
Very poisonous flowers, Bodom petals are found to be growing on Throat of the world. Legend has it that the greybeards themselves grow them for alchemical use. Red in colour, they are suppossed to provide heat and fire damage as well as giving off a very disgusting smell.
These are average sized red flowers.

Damage Personality
Fire Damage
Burden
Night eye

Frost berries
Found high up in the frozen mountains, these small blue berries can have some handy effects for foreigners suffering from the cold. Found growing on stems growing next to a tree, these berries are common in the highest points of the mountain, due to their resistance to the frost, which doesn't allow much else to survive up there, allowing more room for frost berries to grow. These are small green fruits.

Restore Fatigue
Resist Frost
Frost Damage
Damage Magicka

Golden Petal
Found around Dawnstar, the seeds of these Golden Petal Flowers were discovered to have strange properties. It is thought by mages that it was the men of Ysgramor who first discovered these flowers and their unnatural properties. The soldiers of Ysgramor ate them frequently, until they were though extinct. There are very few of these flowers left in Tamriel and so are prized amongst alchemists. These are golden petals.

Light
Feather
Fire Damage
Drain Health

Falmer Ivy
Ivy found at the Falmer ruins have gained the simple name "Falmer Ivy".
Magic users found a particular liking to the ingrediant as it had the power to fortify their magica, making them better wizards. After being left undisturbed, the Ivy has built up an resistance to infections (Not sure if flowers can get infected, Know it sounds stupid lol, But I never really thought about it).

Fortify Magick
Resist Disease/Poison
Restore Magick
Damage Agility

like ayleid Ivy (may have been a mod)

Wild berries
Perhaps the most common plant in all of skyrim, eating this fruit will boost the consumers fatigue, health and make them aware of any enemies near by. These are red berries.

Restore Fatigue
Detect Life
Fortify Health
Damage Strength

Moonsorrow Petals
A very rare flower, Moonsorrow petals glow during the night, and are very poisonus. They give a very distinct smell and anyone who eats these petals feels a sudden loss of energy.

Damage Fatigue
Burden
Light
Damage Personality

Yggdrasil Juice
The juice from these petals, if consumed, makes you faster, and more accurate, but weakens you considerably. Perhaps could be shown as like a potion vial?

Fortify Speed
Fortify Agility
Damage Strength
Damage Endurance

Gjallarhorn
Found in the most remote area's of skyrim, this flower gives the consumer the ability to see in the dark! These are orange flowers (perhaps a flame comin out of them for effect?

Damage Fatigue
Silence
Night eye
Burden

Kromlek Plant
A common yellow flower found throughout Skyrim, Kromlek was named after the alchemist Alberique Kromlek, who discovered the plant. These are a dark green colour.

Damage Fatigue
silence
Fortify Health
invisibility

Cruachan
Part of a plant know fully as Cruachaianes Bane, this part is the only usefull alchemical ingrediant on the flower. These are light blue and droop down.

These are ice coloured and look like roses.

Odroerir Root
Again, The Odroerir plant is not so common in Skyrim, but can be found if you look hard enough. these are tall plants (like fox glove) that are yellow.

Thanks that is great, I just noticed the frost berries don't follow your description at all. I'll redo them. Don't worry about the alcohol, I'll probably design the bottles myself if that is ok.

Yea actually, I tried a watercolour one this evening but I'm not sure if I like it and it also wasnt for any plant in particular but I suppose I could put it up anyway, if you don't mind coming up with some properties for it.

EDIT:
here it is
http://img113.imageshack.us/img113/7834/unnamedplantep7.jpg

I'm not a particularly confident painter, this was supposed to just be a test.

I think that looks pretty cool actually.

Vordven Plant

Found commonly throught skyrim, these plants are light blue on the outside, with dark blue in the petal. The seeds of this plant are said to harvest some useful properties for warriors and are the ultimate hatred for magic users:

Restore Fatigue
Damage Magicka
Silence
Fortify Strength

is that ok? or would you like it changing?

EDIT: Replaced last effect

Maybe you should change the damage health with fortify strength. Other than that it's good. Yes

Yea looks good, but I agree with what psychotic says, it isn't much of a reward getting to expert in alchemy if it means there is just an extra negative effect, and fortify strength would better fit your description.

Actaually could we STOP making these plants up. Really most of them don't sound Nordic and most of the Flora that will be in Skyrim was already in Vanilla OB.
