Haerter's Gap Bugs |
|
Problems I have found:
*Every Npc now has the start of the Marker, what Marker? dialouge, except some with quests(Not all of the ones with quests though.
*The person in a Tempting Offer for some reason is painting, I think this is because of their AI skedule, I have included a screenie of the probelm.
*In the CS the dunmer guards with the bonemold raiment don't have torsos and ingame they don't even show up.
*The new shields appear as the large exclamation marks, in the CS and ingame.
*The caves need fast travel markers.
*Dunmer Census officer and the Dunmer priest need RAI and pathgrids.
*Change the new beds from "Nord bed" to "Bed".
Tis all for the moment, the new roofs are looking good

Sounds like a lot of missing meshes, a misplaced AI schedule/animation
and a missing dialog condition. We need to organize the resources
(meshes, textures) that we need for HG a bit better.

So the textures are an easy fix.
How are you on those signposts?

I didn't see it in any posts, oh well.
Do you think you could make some signs for the various shops and places in Haerter's Gap?

You know we really need to get some more texturers.
I CAN do them, but I would suggest that you give it a go, it's good practice.

NOOB
Sorry, had to do that back to you.
Anyway, just mess around with the different tools, very good way of figuring it out.
Here are some attached pics of some weird bugs, one of them is of a
rock while going up the mountain (that was in the beta, all these were
in the beta), the doors colided, and the dialogue was somewhat messed
up, as every character said those lines to me. Not sure if you fixed
them or not, but it is my belated bug report for Hearter's Gap. Oh
yeah, you may also want to mention (readme or in a post or something)
how to expand the borders of Cyrodiil.

EDIT: Oh, the tutorial, I was talking about the above post. The one where I was talking about bugs in Hearter's Gap.

Marker, What Marker? dialogue isn't in atm. And I've fixed Greeting
problems. The tempting offer chick. She was meant to use the chair next
to her in her schedule. I thought that would mean she would sit on
it...obviously not.
TID, those greetings problems should be fixed in the next release.

I'm talking about texturing tutorials and Smokey is talking about bugs. The next REL is when Smokindan says so.

Some idiot who made up the plan as he went.
I've just been "informed" that I'm going to the in-laws for supper.
I'll have to button this up now to get it uploaded for y'all. Still
more bugs to fix, but that'll have to wait unless one of you has some
free time. Just make sure only one person is working with the main .esp
at a time. |

I killed two birds with one stone with this video, it shows a giant
exclamation mark bug and EVERYONE in the entire game greets me with the
snow bear quest offer, it shows both here. Although the second one is
supposed to be fixed in the newest update, but I did the video before I
saw the update.

I'll work on any bugs quest-wise and interior-wise in the next release.
If we're going to release to the public soon I'll try and finish 1 or 2
of the new quests and then finish the rest in a later release i.e. just
put 'GetIsPlayableRace' to 0 so the quest can't be activated until I
finish it
LC: Not too sure about the exclamation mark and yeah, the dialogue'll be fixed in the release above.

And Smokindan, go ahead and update the mainfile. I'm back, but it's
time to close up here (work tomorrow). I should be able to squash some
more bugs in about 20 hrs. |

If it's a missing mesh it simple doesn't show up, the same thing happens if the mesh is there but there is a problem.

But if it's a missing texture than the mesh is simply purple, so I think the mesh is the problem.

Cheers for the latest vid, Qxzyz
It's getting smaller each time
Here's waht I've fixed so far.
quote: |
+Tjernagel has given the player permission to look in the basement, but there's a red icon on the door...
+ Fire in Tjernagel's seems to be coming out of the fireplace...
|
Ownership should now go to your when you recieve the quest and go back to Tjernagel when you finish. The fire's repositioned.
quote: |
+ Upon finding the sister of Janine in Bruma for the "A Girl Away From
Home" quest, Asta doesn't progress the quest. Additionally, her
placement seems to block the pathgrid for other NPC's in room...unless,
of course, she just happened to wander here from wherever she's
otherwise supposed to be...
|
She now has a greeting which automaticaly adds the topic needed to
progress. I'm not sure about placement as there's not much room...
quote: |
+ Journal stuff..*snip*
|
I've fixed the mistakes but feel free, in the next rel. or whenever, to fix the grammatical errors.
quote: |
+ There's no way to get out of Yulghr's private area -- the area
accessed via a trapdoor in the Skyrim Office...furthermore, his bed
down there is unowned.
+ Can't get Aaberg to initiate any sort of merchant activities...in
fact, I can't seem to convince him I'm not trespassing in his shop, no
matter the time of day.
+ "Entry Into Skryim" quest: Yulghr directs the player to Hauk...Hauk
says ok. Quest stays open in journal. Is there anything further that
should be happeneing here?
|
I've added a ladder to Yulghr's study. Aaberg just needs some RAI so he
can sell stuff and Hauk's dialogue says return to Yulghr to confirm
your entry into Skyrim (I'll add that to the journal entry too.)

Oops -- I had one other clip to go in that video which I mistakenly omitted...
Upon first encountering Haerter's Ghost, I like that he doesn't
immediately greet the player prior to conversation. However, after the
player converses with Haerter for the first time, he reverts to normal
AI conversation; that is, not only will he say, "Hello!" as the player
comes close to him using the OB Nord voice, but all other conversation
options seem to have been replaced with just generic "Rumors."
Additionally, the skeleton in the room appears to have vanished
altogether...
Also, I apologize for not completing the thought in the ReadMe
concerning Yulghr...Player talks to Yulghr -> player talks to Hauk
-> further conversations with Yulghr don't advance/complete the
quest.
Just my 2 septims...

I think we should hold the release until we have as much stuff in as
possible, as opposed to weekly updates to haerters gap. That gets
annoying, when you have to keep redownloading just to get an extra
couple of pieces of armour and one more dungeoun. |

BUGS BUGS BUGS
I tried to avoid anything said already so here goes.
-The character taarirna paints thin air and when no painting the pallette just sticks through her arm/hand
-The door leading down into the lower rooms of the public house, opens up and clips into the stairs
-Aralin's bench sticks really far into the wall
-Aralin's room also looks REALLY bare on one side, not a bug I know but still looks weird
-The doors to the two upper room in the public house, have large gaps
inbetween the door and the door frame, big enough for my cursor to fit
inbetween and steal stuff from inside even when the door is locked.
-Not too much of a bug, but the only option you have with tjernagel
when asking about renting a room is 'I'll take it' so you can't refuse
if you don't have the money or if you don't necessarily need it.
-Sins of a youth Volume 1, has space for an artist H in the word 'had'
on the first page, but there isn't an H there just a gap, so the word
says 'ad'
-When speaking to Yulghr, it says "I'l" instead of "I'll" (I'll fill out the forms to go to skyrim now"
-It says getting in to skyrim instead of getting into skyrim
-The grey bear is invisible
-I also found out what the giant exclamation mark was, it is going
around hauk and moves when he does, so it is him... but he looks fine
and talks fine.
I've got screenshots of all of these (except the last one) so if you don't understand what I mean I'll upload the pic.

We already know what the exclamtion mark is, it's the HG shield.
Bugs I have found
*The Bear legion shield is only to be worn by the nord guards, and
change the name from "HG Unit Shield" to "Bear Legion Shield". The Imp
guards shuld use the standard Imp Legion shield, and the Dunmer either
need a shield from ST or use we need to make a custom bonemold shield.
Also if Cyro_ can finish off that Bonemold helm of his over at Vv we
could use it for the Dunmer guards.
*The wall north wall needs to be lowered, because at the moment half of it is floating, showing the inside of the mesh.
*Light in the shrine needs to be darkened(the main light, not directional or lightsources).
*Lightsources in the Public house need to be moved further away from
each other, and all of the candles need to be replaced with ones that
don't have those big drips as they bleed with everything.

I'll deal with the interior bugs this arvo i.e. about 8 hours from now (school
) and then upload the main .esp tonight. Then GB can look at the missing meshes.

The missing meshes I mentioned should already be in the HG .7z pack,
only their paths needs to be fixed in the CS (or so I'm guessing). Also
Haerter's ghost doesn't have a ghost shader yet (he needs to use the
undead blade shader). One more thing that is not a bug, but might be
worth changing is the silver weapons. They are regular silver weapons,
but at least some of them should be swapped with Nordic silver weapons.
About the HG guard shield, either use the white one for the Nord guards
or the black elongated one (Bear Legion shield) which I didn't actually
see as an object in the CS (I might have overlooked it though).
One more thing. I recommend running a havoc sim once you do an int cell
because a lot of the objects (clutter, weapons, etc.) might fall on the
ground in unexpected ways once the cell is loaded in-game.
I might be able to do some bug fixing in about 18 hours, so I'll work
on the latest version we have by then. Don't fix all the bugs while I'm
gone.
