Snow Crab |

Saw it on Wikipedia and I thought it would be very nice to see them in
deep water in the north of Skyrim. Also their name is actually "Snow
Crab" so would be very cool

I dunno, crabs in Skyrim might seem a little out of place in my opinion...

Just a thought that crossed my mind.
I remember there was an underwater life mod for Morrowind that added
dozens of sea creatures. We used it in ST for a brief period of time.
It's possible that it was the one Abot created ( http://abot.silgrad.com/guppy/
), but I'm not sure. Anyway, the one I'm thinking of had, among other
critters, a fully animated crab creature. Perhaps it would be worth
investigating that, because even if you just get hold of the nif file
for it, it should be possible to import the bones (i.e. it'd be fully
rigged).
Edit: Could be Abot's I was thinking of, because I found a crab screenshot on his site. http://abot.silgrad.com/guppy/photo/wate...mg/photo044.jpg Might need a retexture to look like the crab you guys are discussing.

Mmm... crabs... tasty!
Yes the crab would make a nice delicacy for those rich (but hungry) Nords.
On a random note, why don't we have a Kraken-like creature (the giant
squid thingy)? It would need a lot of work to model and animate, but
just imagine the giant tentacles coming out of the water ready to
squish you into jelly.

Something like a Kraken would really be found and it would be likely that there would only be one in our mod.

So is that a "That idea rulez!" statement?

So were you trying to say "would NOT really be found"? The idea still
"rulez" though since the Kraken was found (in mythology) in arctic
waters in the real world and it is a Norwegian legend.

Wikipedia says that other similar sea creature were found in Nordic
myths, and Kraken is a Scandinavian word, so I guess it is kinda
nordic. I doubt it's possible to implement such a beasty in the game.
On the topic of crabs though, I did retexture a mudcrab into an icy
variant a while back. I'll include it in the next master file. |

Question is, where would they go? After all, I would assume such crabs
are purely coastal, which is out of the scope atm. Doubt there would be
any mountain crabs...a salmon or two would be nice
