OK a couple more nooby questions. If I want to create an item (in this
case a book) am I allowed to do this? Also, am I allowed to create a
dead body of an adventuer, I know I'm not allowed to create NPC's or
anything, but this kindof goes along with the theme of the cave. And
finally, when it comes time to do populating (with baddies), do I just
tell you what I want and you add it for me, or will I be able to do it
myself? |

WHAT!? How is that not correct? Don't edit my post just because you can, if you want to correct me then post a reply and do so.
norin: I will let TOYB answer, after all I wouldn't want to "confuse" you.

To create a new item you must use the naming conventions, and you must
tell us what it is first. You may create dead people. and finally, all
"Baddies" will be populated into the cave when they are in the leveled
lists and/or are made. However this is most likely going to be done by
someone else, so no need to worry. However you still must include a
pathgrid.

OK, thanks for the answers. I intend to include a small book in the cave. And I will have some screenshots soon.

I believe I said that only placeholder creatures can be placed until a standardized pack of creatures (leveled list) is made.

Yeah "Place holders" they shouldn't be used, as they can create problems with claims later on.

Forgetting to swap them with the proper ones, etc.

How could that happen if every int is reviewed at the end? Placeholders are good for testing purposes.

What's wrong with placeholders? If someone forgets to replace them then
just tell them to go back and put actual creatures in...
As long as they don't corrupt the .esp or something then that's fine.

It doesn't really matter Pyschotic as my word over rides yours anyway,

anyway. I'm to lazy to take a screen shot right now but here is the
esp. Right now it's fairly empty, but I would like some cretiques. Bear
in mind that this is my first dongeon, but not my first interior (i've
done some houses and stuff like that). be harsh, but nice. Oh, and the
cell name is "novarstaadcaves", that will make it easy to find.

Wow, my thread just turned into one of the biggest arguments I've seen
here yet. Anyway, back to Alasdair's critique of my work so far. I know
about the lighting, that's my biggest problem when it comes to making a
good doengen. Thanks for the suggestions in that area. And thanks for
pointing out what you said about the smoke. I'll take a look at what
you did, and I'll work on expanding the cave. Thanks. |

Its also good to put fog on with values of roughly this:
R = 23
G = 28
B = 33
Near = 0
Far = 3500
Clip Dist = 3500

True, but remember that ice caves should have less fog since they are
not like normal caves and do not contain much dust (if any). The fog
can be used to make the cave look darker, but it shouldn't look dusty.

Thats why its a mild kind of blueish fog, it looks nice. But maybe just increase the distance to 4000 if its too much

Since norin hasn't been around the forums in a long time the cave can
be opened for claiming again. The person who claims it can finish
norin's cave or start from scratch.

I'll claim another one because I want to start from scratch and because
someone may want to pick this one up from where norin left of.
