Solstheim |

This thread is for me to answer some of the questions you may have
about Solstheim, such as what's the MQ going to be about, are you going
to meet the Skall? This thread is also for the general discussin of
Solstheim, and your thoughts and ideas of what you think should be in
Solstheim and what you'd like to see.

The MQ sounds like a good place to start.

There will be two MQs, one made by Skyrim and one made by the combined forces of ST, Vv and Skyrim.
Skyrims MQ (or MQ 1) will be about Solstheim itself and it's inner workings.
MQ 2 will be about the nords who captured Solstheim moving on to attack MW.

is there going to be the "Imperial *whatever* struggleing to survive in
the harsh climate of Solstheim" idea? Because that was one of the
coolest things in Bloodmoon. The feeling of you working together with
NPC's like that gives an unparelled idea of interactivity.... ('course
the Imperial *whatever* cán fail in the end)....

Cuthalion, not for the MQ, but that should definitely be included in
the quests, and more of those interactive types as well. I don't know
how difficult they'll be to script, but I'm sure Smokindan will have
some idea of how to put it in. |

The Legion General from BM in Fort Frostmoth will be in MQ 1, you find
him barely alive and chose to help him, but later on he turns on you
and trys to kill you, later you meet up with him in the MQ but he is in
Werewolf form(He got bitten by a Werewolf during events of BM, and
turned into one). After that you hunt him down, only to reveal a more
sinister evil...

I always like it more when NPCs die by.... "accidents".

I like it when NPC's die because it gives the final sense of interactivity

I think their should be the ruins of Raven Rock which by lore gets
abandoned just go to the waterfront and ask around. You should be able
to make it rise once again. Oh and in the Impirial fort(if it's still
their)u find the head guy as a beggar and he asks u if u could help him
make it a colony once again. Oh and have a quest to find a living
Falmer or something as such.(would make interesting) Will u have voiced
dialogue??? If so make them have skyrm region rumors not everything
about Cyrodiil. Also how about the Skaal have had some mischievous
people leave their colony and start their own because they got fed up
with the tight rules and so they want to make their own traditions. The
place should still be very Nord oriented but with even more mead. Come
up with a very interesting name also.

Beth did it, and it's called Thirsk.

No not thirsk I mean even more mischievous and just recently not a
hundred years ago. I mean more then 1 building I mean like 5 or 6. The
people should basically be bandits.

No there will not be another native Solstheim settlement, however as I
remember it there was another Skall settelment thing in BM where people
had gotten kicked out of Thirsk because they used that Ice stuff for
weapons, that maybe might become a larger settlement with about 4-6
houses.

What different settlements will there be on solstheim this time around?
I'm guessing there will be no raven rock, it might be cool to have had
a major mining accident there that trapped loads of workers down in the
mines, the place could be abandoned and swarmed with undead skeletons
weilding pickaxes (it is possible with the deadly clutter mod) who are
all the dead miners, this accident could have been what caused raven
rock to close down (or at least one of the major factors). |

The Imperial Fort is still there as NPC's in Oblivion occasionally talk
about the nords invading, and how they are trying to remove the fort
there. There is a man in the Imperial City waterfront who talks about
Raven Rock, but I can't wuite remeber waht he says

Raven Rock will be abandoned because the funding ran out, but the miming accident isn't a bad idea.

Actaully it was abandoned, but it has already been discussed that when
the nords invaded they burnt to the ground, but a few buildings(like
the entrance to the mine) will remain.

The current settlements are;
Native
Skall village
Thirsk
Small outcast village(previously only Graring's House)(does not yet have name)
New
Nord Town(Possible name, Windchild(because it is the child city of Windhelm))
Nord outpost village(no name of yet)
Destroyed
Raven Rock
Fort Frostmoth
Lone Houses
Uncle Sweetshare's Workshop
Thormoor's Watch(A Lighthouse has been established here by Thormoor)
A few seperated fishing huts on the west coast.

It was already mostly detroyed after the events of BM, and afterwards
the garrison was killed/driven away by the attacking nords.

Okay let's Start some planning (except for the MQ, which is my responsibilty).
So these are the limitations:
*Raven Rock was abandoned, then burnt to the ground. A new Town will be
established, but this time it will be a fishing town and a more
permenant Nord outpost. The name of the new Town will be "Winterchild"
however the actual place of the town will still be called "Raven Rock"
as it wasn't just the first town's name, it was actually the name of
the location.
*Fort Frostmoth is in a ruined state, still just how it was at the end
of the Bloodmoon MQ. It since the invasion has been abandoned by the
imperials, however it has new occupants (Necromancers) and is part of
the new Main Quest.
*Thisk remains the same.
*The Skall Village remains the same except for slightly more housing,
and it also plays host to a small group of Guards from the Winterhold
Nords, making sure that the Skall people do not revolt.
*There is a Nord Encampment of Winterhold Nords, the location of the encampment is Thormor's Watch.
Things we need to brainstorm:
*How does the player get to Solstheim from Cyrodiil? (As Solstheim will be playible without using Skyrim).
I think that it would be cool if one of the people from Raven Rock
who ended up on the Imp city waterfront (who are already ingame) took
you there via Boat.
*How do we explain not having any Horkers?
I think that a good way would be that to say that the Winterhold
Horkers hunted them to extinction as the skins were so valuble and
prised by the wealthy back in Cyrodiil. Also the water stone quest will
be about getting back the Skin of the Black Horker from the Winterhold
Nord camp. When you do return it to the stone prehaps that brings the
Horkers back (In a later release we could make the horkers slowly
starting to reappear after the quest is done).
*How many misc quests should we have?
*What armour do we need?
*What would you like me to include in the Main Quest? (small things, not big plot line changes).
*What should the player kill to become the Chieftan of Thirsk?
(Currently there is no Chieftaan, as the Nerevarine is the current one
and the person meant to be filling in is dead).
Also anything else is appreciated, just remember the limitations.

For starters the name "Winterchild" is terrible, it sounds like a name for a hippie commune.
I know why you chose it, but the fact that it was established by
Windhelm Nords does not have to be evident from the name of the town
itself.
I like the rest of the ideas you posted.
I need to get some sleep before I can think straight and contribute ideas though.
Btw, what did you have in mind for the MQ?

Btw, what did you have in mind for the MQ? |
There will be three MQ's actually.
MQ 1.
This one will centre around the Skall, the player will once again
relive the cleansing of each stone (Slightly differnt quests this
time), and it will also deal with the Nord invaders, Necromancers and
the Blood Moon's second rising (The Bloodmoon's rise this time isn't
due to Hircine, but the Necromancers trying to gain power, also at the
end of the oringinal BM MQ Hircine does mention the Bloodmoon rising
again soon).
MQ 2.
This one will deal with the creation of the section town upon the ruins
of Raven Rock, it will be made by the Nords, however there will be the
biggest twist in the world and you will be incredibly surprised by it
(If you really want to ruin the surprise you can PM me and I will tell
you). The surprise also deals with the actual reason why the Nords
invaded...
MQ 3.
This one is a combined effort of ST, Vv and Skyrim. It will be written
up once the other two are done and made ingame. There are few details
of it now, however there was talk of Redoran and Fort Frostmoth, but
you'll have to wait.
Also I'd like to mention that the new Town will now still just be
called "Raven Rock" because the name is the actual place, not the town
and so the Nords probably would just stick to it anyway.

Here is a pic of the new tent I have made. It is supposed to be made of Horker skin/fur.
It is going/is being used in the Nord encampment. Enjoy.

The tent looks good, but isn't Horker fur white?
Also if the Horkers were hunted to extinction because of their
luxurious fur wouldn't it be a little stupid to waste such an expensive
fur on a tent?
