Windhelm: Palace and Lighthouse |

But he is already working on other HM which will slow him down, by the
time he has finished the castle set he will be nearing the end of
finishing his other HM's and our HM will only take him a short while.
If he does ours and the other HM's production on all of the HM slows
down a lot and would take longer than if he made the caste/palace first.

Actually we won't get the HM any quicker if The Wizard works on after
the castle. Both the HM and the model take away from one's time, and
the castle could be added to Windhelm at any time.

Thanks TOYB for looking out for me, it really would strain me. I'll
finish my other maps first then I'll finish up Skyrim. If any
objections, please state them.

Doing all the HM's at once would be boring as hell, you need some variation.

Thanks
Edit 2006.11.01 18:25:
I got the westwing ingame, no problem with collision, but it looks
pretty lame untextured. Can you help me out Phycotic? I can always re
apply collision after you texture it. I'm going to make the
Middle-earth Height map with all my free time for now, but when I
finish that I'll redovte all my time to Skyrim with only the exseption
of building hobbition.

Sure. Just send me the UV map in a form of an image file (any image
format would do) and the model as a nif. The UV map might need some
adjusting though depending on the way the texturing goes. If you want
you can just label which parts of the model need to have a stone
texture, which need to have a wood texture etc... it's up to you
though.

I don't know how to UV map. Unless you mean UV map the NIF in nifscope. I can do that.

I lost ya.
I though meshes could only be textured if they are UV mapped, though I didn't know that could be done in NifScope.
All I need is the mesh (in .nif format) and an image file (as a
stand-in for the texture) that will tell me what will go where once
that image file is applied on the mesh.

I'm working on a model right now to gain more skill over blender. I'll
show you when I'm done. I hope I learn enough to make my next Windhelm
peice really nice. I'm no master yet, but my day will come.

Ok, before I continued the Windhelm palace I needed a good warmup to
really get a mastery over achitecture in blender. I stil have a long
ways to go before I am a "master", but this has been my warm up. I
enjoyed it, and I think you all will find it meeting the standard we
hope to achive with windhelm. Any veteran modelers out there,
expspeicially blender, any constructive critisism or pointers, or
anyting would be greatly apperciated. Anyway, here it is, my warm up
before I take on the rest of Windhelm. I've learned a lot from it.
This is also a birthday present for Vality7. Happy 21st!

From your post I think I'm right in thinking this is made for TES: III
Cyrodiil, and if it is I think you may of done it with too many polys
I really hope you can get this done, also please don't pick up any more
claims, as I know your doing other HMs and ours has been left out in
the cold....

You don't like my pace? You can make it then. Don't give me that time
crap. I don't care if TES MMMXXIV is out, I mod for fun. That's all
that matters. I'll make the map, but I'm not going to be pressured to.

It was a joke, don't take it so badly.
Anyway take your time, this will be used in Eastmarch, which will be released after the Rift.

No offence taken, just letting you know where I stand, just as long as
we understand each other everything should be smooth. I have not been
height mapping lately, I have been practicing modeling. I have learned
a lot since I did Windhelm West Wing, I hope to make the rest of it
with a lot more skill and professional look as well as using fewer
polys, ext... I'll have plenty to offer in the future, but for now I
need to master modeling (I have come very far) and learn how to UV map,
and get a textured model ingame. Then I will be able to do anythning
just about. Don't worry, Skyrim will get it's spot in the sun from me.
I'll make really nice models and get a nice height map finished when I
feel confident enough to make absolutly stunning work. I also have to
keep a clear desire to do it or I will get burnt out, so it's all about
the balence I have to maintan. Things are looking bright though. I have
a lot of plans for grandure.
