Count them again, it's more like 50-60 (and that's not too much for a capitol city). |
Ahem... actually don't do that.
There are approximately 100 buildings in my concept map, but I wasn't
actually planning for Winterhold to have that many, it's just the way
it turned out in the concept.
Sorry Richard, no idea exactly, I'd say about 40 if I had to guess. |
I already counted that's why I said 100, I wasn't trying to exagerate

Is the Pale Pass road north of Bruma that leads to nowhere going to lead to Skyrim?

Hmm, good question, we'll probably have some kind of gate along there that will teleport you into Skyrim.

Actually this has been talked about before and Pall Pass is destoryed,
and hasn't been touched in a long time. Having a gate there would be
Lore Rape.

See ifpeople read my posts more they wouldn't be as confused
There will be another pass like HG close to Falkreath, but that is
quite a while away and will probably be used as a secondary teaser
later on.

How about a collision box to teleport you? Even if there isn't a
structure there, the actual landform of the pass is still going to be
around. |

Actually the pass hasn't been used for years and is unpassible because of the landsilde that had occured.
Just let it go.

You know, you really should stop saying that, especially in a brainstorming thread.
The pass is no more as far as I remember from lore, though I don't
remember anything about a landslide. Even if there was a landslide
there could be an underground cave passing. Having only two points of
passage into Skyrim is a bit too little, not to mention that the other
passes are way too far away from each other. |
It was a landslide, you really need to play the Bruma Countess quest
In lore it says there is/was only two passes, one near Riften and Pale
Pass. In a manner of speaking we do have three but one is unpassible

It's in one of the quest stage descriptions when you approach the fort
itself. Although it says the FORT was destroyed by a landslide doesn't
it, not the Pass?

That's how I remember it.
What I meant is two FUNCTIONAL passes is too little, especially ones that are so far away from each other.

Well actually it is okay having more than that will make the Cyrodiil side cluttered.

right... a doorway leading to a cavern in the Pale Pass that spits out
into Skyrim is going to clutter things to much... Pale Pass isn't even
a part of the Cyrodiil worldspace. |

I didn't mean putting a cavern there, I meant a making new pass would make it cluttered.

I haven't seen scorp (the guy who is working on the architecture for
the Pale) around the forum for a long time. He had a big part of the
architecture done already, but I'll contact him soon to see if he's
still working on it (provided he is still alive
).

Yes that's true, but not unless we can get scorp.

one at the westernmost edge of the valley near Applewatch Farm (?). Or
is it near the mountain pass leading to Hermaeus Mora's shrine?

I'm not sure what your asking. The second entrance in near Falkreath if that answers anything.

I have had something like that in mind for some time, and I agree. The
entrance won't be shown on any maps (except maybe on some random piece
of paper in some random cave) as it is not an official border pass. An
underground entrance like this should be located very near to the Pale
Pass. The pass itself is no longer functional because of a landslide,
but an underground entrance, like a cave, can easily be present. The
reason for the location I suggested is because the Pale Pass is in the
middle of Skyrim and this underground passage could serve to patch the
big impassable space between the two official border passes.
