I understand that Skyrim will be worked on and released (generally)
from east to west, but what is the agreed-upon order? (Clearly, the
Rift is first, but which is next, & so on....)
Actually, what I'm really after is the intended order for city releases
-- I presume Riften is up first, followed by... ? Is there an existing
thread with this info?

After the Rift/Riften it goes onto Eastmarch/Windhelm then it will
probably both the Pale and Winterhold. After that is up for debate.

Probably Whiterun after The Pale and Winterhold, but that's in the far future atm.

We don't nearly have enough people for that. We could either work on
one (possibly two) holds at once and finish it faster or more holds at
the same time and end up not releasing anything for a long time.

I think we should have a mountain of texture/mesh claims put up, for
people who just come and go, giving them something to do whilst they
are here. Some of these texture/mesh claims could be for areas that we
aren't yet working on. At least that way we can continue working on
that area when we reach it. |

Good point, LC. At least that would suit my ridiculous schedule very
well. When I get a couple hours free, I could hit the request board and
pick something off. That way, The people who have lots of time can work
on the long-term goals.
Also, while Psychotic's right about not having enough modders, we
should have enough areas open to keep everyone happy. I'd just like to
see, with TOYB, a release every so often to keep the Ob community
happy. We've seen how much work is involved in one small village; now
we have to see if we can streamline the operation a bit. |

I have no problem with having more areas open or having lots of
texture/mesh claims, though priority should be put on one or two holds
at a time.

Yea, that makes the most sense.

So there's no set order for city release? I understand the agenda
presented about working on holds in a specific order, but is the
exisitng plan to release cities/towns in a given hold according to
whichever one is closest to completion?
Edit: Hmmm...just re-read this post and thought a clarification was in order
What I mean is -- does a list/plan exist which looks like the following:
Skyrim for Oblivion Release Agenda
1st Hold: The Rift
Order of release: Riften, Greenwood, Reich Corigate, Sunguard
2nd Hold: Eastmarch
Order of release: Venim Wood, Windhelm, etc...
Or is it more likely/reasonable to release cities/towns in a given hold based upon how close they are to completion?
Edit^2 Mind you, I'm not proposing there _has_ to be such an order/list; I'm merely curious...

For public release only fully completed holds will be available, so as
far as releases go it doesn't mater what town is worked on first.
Though of course any town can be claimed and worked on if it's available for claiming and if the resources for it are available.
