A wicker shield... nice!
It would make a good shield for combat training or very light infantry.

as strange as it may seem a good wicker shield is quite durable and
resistent...of course its not an iron shield, but some superpowers of
ancient times equiped their warriors with some of these shields... take
the Persians.... some of their troops used these shields... of course
you can't rely only on these shields... and when you are facing arrows
you can only pray that the arrow fails the target, but against blades
and blunt weapons it can stand their ground... not much, but it won't
break on the fist atack...maybe the second or third but not the first
truth be told that chairs, boats, wicker bins, and other things made of
this material are quite durable, besides the wickerchairs are really
confortable...

I have two such chairs, they?re very comfrortable and indeed very durable and also very light and make a lot of noise
Welcome to Skyrim!! I?m liking the shields a lot, the wicker and celtic shields are my favourites!

I second that
Wicker shields would definitely fit well for poor militiamen in the Pale.

Psy, have you ever tryed the luxurious model of wicker chair?
The kind that is very shapy, in the Sauna and with beer and nuts...
eh?
It is not the actual comfort of the wickerchair compared to a (hmm what
it?s called?) a "one-man-sofa" that is relevant, but the
[flexibility-of-application to comfort ratio] is huge!! Sauna is but
one example of the tough circumstances that these light, durable and
trusty pieces of furniture can be used. You can?t put a sofa in a
Sauna...
Never underestimate the wicker chair!!
|
Wicker is a sort of hard woven plant fiber, so many plants can be used to make it.
No, I haven't tried the luxury model... but I'll take your word for it being comfortable.

Ok I see cool!! Then I guess it grows in Skyrim... It would indeed be cool for militia stuff, and furniture too!
There could be a scary finland-like part of Skyrim where the nords sit
in the Sauna all day and slap each other with uhm, don?t remember what
it?s called but it?s like the "anti-dust-rug-slapper-thing" and it?s
made of wicker and traditionally they slap each other with it in the
sauna in finland. Pretty, uhm, funky...
And it?s the comfiness of circumstance(or something like that), a sofa
is naturally superior in comfiness - provided you?re not wet
I must sleep now! Before I go posting more B/S and make an idiot out of myself!!

Nice, especially the Orcish one.
You deserve new shield models to play your texturing magic on them.

Try doing a whole lot of Nordic Shields, lots of differnt patterns is always good and helps with imersion.
Also you should try doing some armour retexs aswell
Cheers,

I have a couple of nordic looking shields in queue but, with the way
current round shields are skined by oblivion, I can't do those more
complicated and most beatiful ones... especially those that have
intricate, and complex celtic and viking knots...for this I would need
a round shield that is skined by a circunference rather than a 1/4
circunference... but there are still some that I can do in the mean
time... I will focus on nordic shields then...

Your ability with texturing, if you area really good texturer you can normally get to using a modeling program pretty quickly.
However I think it might be best to PM someone that has 3ds max, and ask you them to give you the keys to the car *hint* *hint*

Looks nothing like a maori tatoo (I come from NZ), but looks good all
the same. I would make the ink darker, and frayed around the edges,
also I think that the lines should be abit thicker.
Also how are you doing the taoos? via editing the skin texture? or using a "mask" nif?
