Who cares about how Maori they are, what ever they are, they?re cool!! And looking good, that?s what counts :D
I think though (as mentioned) that they might need some dark lining to look more inky, especially when put on a bleak Nords face I believe.
They look alittle "glowing" to me which is?nt necesarily a bad thing, I mean it looks really cool, but not really like tatoos, more like some magic thing... Maybe a little darker red? Like wine/dryed blood?
The design is very nice I think!!! Good job!

TOYB can you post pictures of genuine Maori designs?

these Tatoos were made to be shiny... and to resemble some of the tatoos in FABLE in their shinyness...=) I can make them inky...it's simple...a question of editing the normal map... I'm gonna make a version with other colors.... but now I have to test the shields in the Leveled lists... and see if everything appears more or less randomly along with the already existant shields....and if the appearance of the new shields affects the appearance of the old ones.... so far so good...

That's mor maori, but you can tell that it is only for a presentation of the Haka, traditionaly the Koru designs are tattoed into your face with a very painful technique involving a mallet or hammer...

A needlee is lightly less painful than someone using a chisel and hammer or your face, also that pic you googled is obviously just face paint Wink

are you familiar with sea turtles? they say their shell makes for good armor... my idea is..make a new shield out of SeaTurtle Shell.... and I know just the appropriate shield, and the species apropriate for it.... in the mean time I have one new shield, and some new tatoos....

Edit:

Well have you heard of the Leatherback Sea Turtle? its turle that has a shell that resembles Leather, both in color, and touching sensation...

here is a pic of one...

and here is a shield made of its shell....

Edit2: And here are the two new designs... one for male, and other alternative for females... the male has a blue variant as shown in the middle pic...

BTW how do I restrick a shield or item to a specific faction? eg. necromancers?*add malicious grin....*

Aww poor turtle Frown

You probably want to get in touch with either the Black Marsh team or the Elsweyr team about that shield though, I can't imagine many turtles swimming about in the icy waters of Skyrim. Wink

but these shields aren't specificaly for Skyrim...although they can become if the team wants to...at least i've been working on my personal mod so far... but if the team wants some of the shields done so far, to be exclusive, or only released after the Skyrim Mod is out, i'll do it as they want...

and as for the improbability of a shield made out of a tropical animal in skyrim... there are some nifty things called Commerce Trade Networks...=) in the Stone Age and ancient times these trade routes brought items from egitp and phoenicia into the deep forests of Germany(during the stone age and bronze age) and Egitian gods to Greece...and so on... nothing stopped a merchant to travel from black marsh and sell his items in skyrim...or some wealthy citizen offering one of these shields to a noble, or important person of skyrim....

I was just saying that you might want to post some of these shields in other project's boards, else they might not even see them.

You are of course free to use these shields for whatever you want, we don't really mind whether they are exclusive of not.

here I have a new shield...inspired in the Osprey recreations....

I know the screens are a bit dark..but it was foggy outside... ill get better screens as soon as possible=)
its not totally identic as I found the original depictment too plain... so I added the cloth texture...i'll post the original pic in wich I based my efforts...
