I think it's time for a new ESF thread, in order to advertise the
recent work we've done on the Rift (and the rest of skyrim). It would
be nice to net ourselves a few more modders.
Hopefully we could include a new trailer video, as well as all our
previous ones and screenshots of everything we've done to date.
Any ideas/opinions?

Here here, I second that motion. I've got Vernim Wood and the Redwoods merged, so you can include that in the trailer.

Yep, we really need a new thread over at ESF.
I do think that once the Redwoods and the Aspen Forest (with the
appropriate settlements in those regions) are finished we should make a
small trailer showcasing the progress made on the Rift. A visual
preview of Riften and the smaller places like Vernim Wood and Reich
Corigate would be especially nice.
So once we have this trailer thing made and we gather all the recent
visual content (new models, re-textures, etc.) we should definitely
make a new thread. Hopefully some new modders will get caught into the
net of awesomeness.

Good idea. I should've been updating the old ESF thread but RL's a bit full on atm
It was also getting pretty large in terms of code. I can copy and paste it for someone if they wish (Alasdair?)

I could have a crack at doing the trailer this evening, if you can post
the newest versions of all our videoable stuff in the trailer thread,
in the outer core. Unless there has been no updates since the stuff
that has already been posted.
What do we need in it?
Redwoods
Reich Corigate
Vermin Wood
Aspen Forest
A little bit of Riften
I'm much better with the CS after revamping a load of the waterfront,
so I could probably finish Dragonwood soon. Are any of the dungeons
trailer worthy? Is there anywhere else that needs videoing? |

You could do redo some video shots of Haerter's Gap.

Reich Corigate's exterior is done and so are some of the interiors so I
could post an incomplete esp just for the purposes of this video I
guess.

I can't upload it, it's 160kb
Rar-ing it makes it 102, but still too big. What should I do?

Just upload it to File Front or some other place like it.

Is this on the heightmap, or on a worldspace of its own. Do you know its coordinates?

I've packed all the music composed for Skyrim and uploaded it here.
The reason I'm posting the link in this thread is because the tracks might come in handy for the trailer.

Have you guys ever heard of the band Korpiklaani? They're a heavy metal
group, but they sometimes sing in this foreign gutural language, and
they have accordions, flutes, fiddles, digeriidoos, and these big drums
mixed in, altogether giving it a really barbaric sound. It might be
interesting to try something with their music in a trailer; it would
certainly mix things up a bit from the standard over-dramatic throat
singing in most trailers

Any of those folky-metal bands would suffice if that's the feel you're
going for. Also consider Ensiferum, Finntroll, Viikate, some of Ulver's
stuff too. They all have their pure Scandanavian folk pieces.

And let's not forget that Skyrim has lots of awsome music by itself,
the trailer will have to be pretty long if you want all of the Skyrim
music as well as these bands.

No, in the end the music composed for Skyrim is the best choice (which track specifically I have no idea).

I've asked Sulan if he wants to compose something more theme song like,
for the trailer but I havnt had a response. He plays the cello doesn't
he? A cello on its own could be perfect, but still it is a lot of work.
I reckon one of the pieces he has already written will do fine. |

Well currently we're trying to put together a new single master file
containing all our assets (including the HM) before we start up a new
ESF thread. Hopefully it shouldn't take too long. |

Anyway, let's get back on topic!
I'll try to split this thread, let's hope I don't mess it up

On the music, you may want to check bands like Turisas, Finntroll,
Wintersun (well the some of that stuff), Korpiklaani, Moonsorrow, T?r
& Runic

I personally think 'Svart Djup' by Finntroll would be a good choice (depending on the mood of the video of course)

Finntroll sound a bit depressing to me. : /
Though I have all of the Korpiklaani albums and I like them all, but
Voice of Wilderness is my favorite (especially Fields in Flames).
I think that we could perhaps use some Viking Metal for one of our less "official" trailers.

Anyone got Finntroll's New Album yet? "Ur Jordens Djup" Some good stuff on there that could be used
And some ensiferum maybe? may be a tad too heavy though.

Svart Djup is a very relaxing, "nature" sounding track. Like that
little flute piece by a composer who's name I cannot remember but
everyone knows =/
