Is that in sketch-up? Do you have the plugins to use those files?

Screenshots are in Wings3D,
and I can get it into blender easily and export to .nif from there (if
I knew how too use blender that is). So it should be possible to get it
in game, especially since I know people have got models in-game from
modeling tools such as modo and lightwave, neither of which have their
own nif exporters. |

I like it, looks like it would go well with the Traditional Nordic Architecture set.

With the proper textures this will look great!
It's not exactly the same style as the traditional Nordic architecture,
but I can see this being used in a place like Solitude (we don't really
have an architecture set for Solitude).

Not an update per se, but I have figured out how to UV and texture my
models, and get them into oblivion. (as well as getting them to scale
correctly so snap to grid can be used) All I need to do now is figure
out how to get double sided faces to become single sided in blender,
and then I will be able to make some proper architecture! |

Proper update now. Instead of making whole houses, I decided it would
be easier to make a tileset. I made the first 3 pieces today, brought
them ingame and textured them (the textures are only placeholders).
I've started work on some of the Roof Pieces, and I think it looks
pretty good so far.

Nice work, Alasdair! We definitely need more architecture. Where do you think we'll use this stuff? Sunguard?

Personally I think Lego type architecture is much better than fully
prefabricated models. Every building can be made to look unique with
modular sets! Bravo

Will you make some window pieces too?

Daytime pictures son, daytime pictures =/
Lol other than that, awesome! I think it'd be good if we could do some
retextures for say, stone buildings and so on so eventually we'll have
several variants of the set for different Holds.

MAN that is awesome. For each city all we'll need to do is retexture them to match it's style and whammo!

Freakin' awesome, Al! I see what you mean about needing different wood textures though

If you're looking for more wood textures I suggest looking the bruma
section (where our existing wood textures came from.) Plenty of good
ones to experiment with.

Some work on the interior tiles, the textures and vertex shading isn't quite finished yet.

Nice work
There is a cross shape of wood beams in the ceiling. The ceiling beam
that goes 'into' the screenshot - the one that ends on top of the
central pillar - looks like it has its mapping turned sideways, so the
striations go from left to right rather than from the player's
perspective towards the wall. Apart from that it looks close to
perfect.

Yes, the UV mapping for that part is a bit off. I'll make sure to fix it.
I also discovered a nifty polygon reduction script in blender, it just
removes the beveled edges, which is exactly what I need for the
collision meshes - it should save me quite a bit of time, so I'll
hopefully be able to finish this tileset soon enough. |

This set won't/doesn't include a chimney by any chance does it? I could
really do with a chimney lol. I've had to improvise for Dragonwood's
little kiln building (as the houses themselves don't have fireplaces)
but it doesn't look too good. Just a chimney like the Bruma houses
would be really handy (or a couple of flavours)

I still haven't finished texturing all the interiors, this is just one
of those jobs I keep putting off while I finish other things. However
once I finish the next master file, this is very high on my priority
list (right after converting Prom's homes), and I'll release it as an
update to the master as soon as I complete it.
@Richard: Doesn't the Amol set have a chimney? That might work.

I looked in Amol briefly but all I could see was partially-missing
meshes so I assumed it was just a bunch of placeholders =/

Woot, that's great news Alasdair. Will there be a patch for the master
file comming out to include it, or do we merge it into our esps on our
own? |

Cool, can you check out the filepaths for Prom's homes too? When I went
to work on Sunguard a while back, a few of the meshes had missing
textures. If I recall one of the homes was missing from the master file
as well. |
