I read somewhere that there is some illegal nordic whiskey called
rotgut , ''Of note is that the particular climate of Skyrim makes it
the only region in Tamriel, outside of the most northern reaches of
High Rock and Morrowind, suitable for the brewing of the infamous
alcoholic beverage Nordic Whiskey, also known simply as "Rotgut". This
is because that, in addition to the local availability of certain
ingredients, several times during the distillation process, the
substance must be subjected to extreme cold temperatures, so that it
may freeze and refreeze. The drink is noted for the distinct "cold"
taste, similar to extraordinarily strong mint, which persists as a
feeling of ice in the stomach, as well as for the very deleterious
nature of its content. Nordic Whiskey is illegal throughout the Empire,
but this does not stop many proprietors from stocking smuggled bottles
for those brave enough to try a mug.'' - as you guys are (atleast I
understood you are)
adding the nordic chocolate , then I figured that perhaps this beverage might be noteworthy as well.

I don't have any say, but out of curiosity, what source did you get that from?

Nordic chocolate? Nordic whiskey?
I googled part of the text you cited, and got this http://www.answers.com/topic/skyrim
Which just regurgitates the text from the old Skyrim page on wikipedia,
and lists the 1st PGE as reference...except nowhere in the 1st PGE (at
least in the Skyrim section) is this stuff mentioned. But something so
trivial is hardly lore breaking even if someone did just make it up and
stick it on wikipedia.
This might be a neat little thing to use some of SAcarrow's bottle meshes for.

It's obviously just something someone made up and put on the wikipedia
page, then the fools at answers.com (which takes all it's stuff from
wikipedia anyway) and filefront copied it.
Using wikipedia as a source for anything is a cardinal sin in academia,
the media, everywhere. Except at answers.com and filefront, apparently.
Personally I like the idea though, some food and beverage variety would be great.

Wikipedia is an excelent source provided you check its sources, and if
you are using it for academia, cite its sources. You checked its
sources here, and found it to be incorrect, seems reliable to me.

As far as I am aware Rotgut is just made up, and not a real drink in Skyrim. Nords drink mead!
However, you may be interested to know that a beverage of the same name exists in the Fallout series...

well , mead certainly makes more sense than whiskey . oh , and by the
way , whilst this sounds pretty useless , the vikings drank milk , and
with eastmarch being rural and woody and all , I figured there might be
cows and milk available over there? (just a speculation)

I agree that something like chocolate or whiskey will not be a big sin as, say, inhabiting Skyrim primarily with altmer
. It just irritates me that some schmuck decided to come up with
something and it just catches. If it ain't bethesda, it ain't lore.
Btw, I am not calling you a schmuck Marcus, just wanted to clarify that.
Besides, where is Skyrim getting the chocolate from, Argonia?!
