RE: Ayleid Retext Progress Thread |

I like it. Not too noticeable...
Since the Ayleids fled to Summerset Isle after the fall of White Gold
Tower, will some ruins be a lot less destroyed? Maybe some inhabited? |

they went four places after they got defeated....
1. Dirennei Hegemony, boosted the numbers of the Dirennei
2. Summerset Isles, and rejoined their old kin
3. Valenwood, I think something to do with the Camoran dynasty
4. Stayed in Cyrodiil, went back to their Ayleid tribal ways

yeah they were tribal and skilled in alteration,
however some decided to settle and make city-states which overtime got
distanced from Summerset and became it's own Elven nation, however some
most Ayleids today still live tribally and using alteration to hide
themselves from cyrodiilic man
I think that's that

I'd like to see what it looks like salmon colour... I can't imagine the
exteriors blue like that, but we'll wait for GR to get back first.

Alright, I think this is a good opportunity to help others learn how to
do this... I'll need volunteers... I'll walk you through the basics of
tweaking the textures via NIFskope.
You can also use this to make your own retexes and stuff, so what do you say?

Using... nifscope? Why? can't you just edit the texture and link a duplicate .nif to it??

Oh, I see what you mean, I use TR so I was confused.

I don't like using TRs too much for two reasons:
1. There's basically no way of telling the progress and telling what changes need to be made and
2. Because I'm too simple-minded to figure any of them out.
Very good reasons if you ask me.
Though if you're willing to link me to one, do so! very much
appreciated if you could. Try some other programs that *might* be good
for my very specific preferences.

with it, you point it to a .nif, then you point it at the texture. Done.

One texture, or multiple textures? It's a matter of copy and paste and
sounds much faster than doing each texture of each NIF via a program.

Slow. I decided that your idea of using a TR for this was a good one,
so I decided to give gundalf's OMTR (Oblivion Mass Texture Replacer) a
try. Thing is, it works, but only on some models and not others...
Which is very weird. Gundalf is (quoted from Razorwing) 'Missing in
Action' so I can't contact him about it. I checked and double checked
and it really *SHOULD* work, but as I am not a genius with these TR
programs, I wouldn't be surprised if I messed up somehow. Hmm...

Now I can't even seem to get this to work properly... Hmm...

Perhaps do it the old fashioned way? Damn tedium.

I understand your eagerness, but I can't, not with the retex program
because it went all screwy. I really wish I could snap my fingers or
click the mouse button and be done with it, but more than 300 models
doesn't take as short of time as you think after your main program for
this sort of thing kinda bugs up. Anyway, if you want to lend a hand...
