Images work fine for me. I'll have to check them out at home. My work
comp is way too dark...can't tell what's going on.

I'll consider it.
I havent decided which of the big projects ill join yet, or if ill just
help a little bit everywhere. I do concept art and landscaping (plus
building cities, interiors etc.)
One thing is for sure! I wont begin modding, before I'm done with oblivion

Nice work Wookien, will wood elf structures in the mod be totally
organic (i.e. grown like Telvanni structures) or will there be things
like what wookien posted. Because I thought wood elves didn't cut down
trees, but I'm no lore expert. |

Good reference, but we'd want more flat lavels, and ways to go between levels.

Welcome beastmafia
Nice sketch, that would be what I imagined the smaller vialleges would look like.
I was also thinking baskets with ropes, but platforms can work too, and we can make them real time.
Anyway, good stuff.

Thanks everyone
I'll try to flesh out some more stuff, but the San Diego Comic-Con is
this weekend, and I gotta work there all four days. Sunday is most
likely when I will resume concept work...
I'll get more detailed later on, too.
It's an awesome project and I'm glad to be a part of it.

Has this one been made? And do the trees need to be done with speed tree?

No, it has not been done yet, you can have a go at the houses, but For
the trees you need Speed Tree, unfortunately I have not seen any demos
of it around.

Uhh... I hate using speed tree, luckily I do have a copy of it from a friend for 3ds 6
Give me a while to work with speed tree and I'll see what I can do with
it. As for the houses it wouldn't look the same without the tree, I was
planning on building the houses into the tree, instead of intercepting
it. |

Thats what I was thinking about the houses aswell. They would be like
the various mushrooms that grow on trees. BTW I got your render, looks
good, I like it.

Great concept and I can do it as a static object in max, but I can?t do
it in ST? The ST program doesn?t root out the trunk like I want it to.
The best ideas I can come up with is to use stock Oblivion trees and
import a mushroom house, clipping the tree. Crud, but nonetheless is
the only way I can see how this design will come to life in Oblivion,
unless a static tree is fine, but wouldn?t look right when the other
trees are swaying in the wind? That and the tree built in max will be
verrrrrry low polygon, the tree I used in this screen shot exceeds
10,000+
http://img83.imageshack.us/my.php?image=testpi1.jpg
I pretty much have the mushroom house done; all I need now is a texture to apply it when it comes time to exporting.

:EDITED:
If push comes to shove, the Meshes\dungeons\ayleidruins\exterior...
Roots could be used to give that nice rooting from tree effect.

:EDITED 2:
Cool so not all hope is lost. Here are a few more test renders built
from ST, these are as close to manroots as I can get for now. I'll do
some more testing and in the mean time ya'll get me some more concepts.
Hell I don't care if they are drawn or screenies.

I don't know if this is the right thread, but here's my latest tree
drawing thing, there are two levels along with small windows in the
main tower, and on some of the bigger roots.
Hope it's good

Those trees will need to be made static. I wonder if that would mean no leaves aswell, hmm. Good concept nevertheless

I draw with pen and pencil, for the tree I used a normal ballpoint pen, pens are my favorite things to draw with

Yes it could be done that way but I meant it would need to be static to get that twisting effect.

Hmm I guess, but how do we explain the trunk not swaying at all when the branches do?
