just not to put everything on then at start I would really love to see
some concept art that includes: Centaure's, Hippogriff's, satyr's,
Giant's, basilisks, fairy folk, hdra, and some sort of intelligent apes
(wonder how they will look
)
Valenwood also include Minotaure's but since there are minotaures ingame allready we wont be needing those.
I would make these my self, but my drawing skills are like. well very
sucky , so would be more than hapyy if some people would be able to
draw something

I will start with apes.... they are the Imga(?) and assimilated to a high-elven style society...
but there are tribal ones that seem to live more like orcs than high elves

Imgas move into forts that were abandoned by the Imperials, they wear
clothing, capes. And they have this cloth with insence on it, they put
it up their nose when they are near humans because they belive them to
smell bad and that humans are inferior.

I bet Imgas will use weapons if made to... I mean Chimps will take up
sticks to drive away leopards if cornered... otherwise they run... I;m
sure if the Imga had to fight he'd fight in the trees and throw objects
unless cornered when he will use his strong body and teeth and rip you
to shreds... but that's rare... like Gorillas they are relatively
docile unless provoked... and also vbery inteligent and having a messed
up culture!

Hmm a long time ago, 2-3 years I think, I designed wood elfs that look like monkeys. Well at least a bit
Anyway maybe we can use them.
I'm sorry for the poor quality. It's a gif, couldn't find a Jpeg version.
I also drew a Satyr, although I'll doubt it's what you're looking for.

That could be a landing, for the big birds in Valenwood that can also
carry peole around. I doubt the safety of pullies though hehe.

Great, I saw one of those in some artwork around here I think. So, how will those actually work? Like Flight Paths in WoW?

I dont think we will be animating them. It will be like a Silt Rider
from MW, just standing there and you talk to a guy and he flies you to
your destonation (but you dont see that, just a loading screen). The
reason is that there is no way to import and export animations, and it
would be hell for pathfinding.

Well yeah, that's about it only without moving animations.

I always wanted that; to get lost in a game. How are you handling map?

The map is made. We will be disableing the play icon, so you will have
to navigate by landmarks. But I will try to make it modular for people
that dont like adventure.

Sure, compromises are always good.

Can someone tell me what needs designing, I'll do anything, weapons,
armour, buildings, city plan (if any is needed), enemies, animals, and
other stuff. I would greatly appreciate it, and it would be a pleasure
to work with you guys.

Could this guy be used for anything? I drew it last night and I may as well put it to good use
By the way, it is meant to be Divayth Fyr from Morrowind.

Your drawing are very good, but a bit misplaced for Valenwood,
Try some of the following (by raggidman)
4 kinds of 'buildings':
Indwellings - as with a knothole or hollow in the side of a giant branch or trunk
- branch entry slopes down or there may be an extruded ledge that runs along the side of the branch...
- trunk entry as for a door in the side of a building
- The grain of the wood should be highly visible and follow the line of
the branch or trunk into which the indwelling or inbuilding is set with
artistic variation...
Parasitic and Symbiotic Dwellingsmany, many plants grow
naturally as parasites or symbiots on trees - could be morphed into
dwellings (includes mushrooms FLESH!
)
Shanties may be suspended from vine ropes as a tent;
Modelled Dwellings adobe/clay/sap/resin moulds or carvings using
polished deadwood for the frames (the deadwood would be important as
you would not want to kill a living plant by encasing it in an inimical
substance ) and also could use roots from parasitic plants to create
the frames for the walls! ;
Different Tree Species
= Different Interior Textures...
= Different Entrances
= Different Leaves
Furniture
= Polished or rough Dead Wood
= Extruded branches/roots from floor and walls
= small parasitic plants
= small rocks, boulders, whatever can be found naturally occuring
= amber, resin, glass,
= imported
The use of natural dies and stains

I absolutely love those drawings ,and I like where all of this is
going. I sound like I'm familiar with akavir but I'm not...im a noob.
But yea... I just like the drawings and I think they will fit well in
the scheme that yall are talking about.
