You guys can feel free to make a new topic here, and discuss hints and
tips, and maybe make a guide out of it for our newer members

Well I finally got max 8
so I decided to quickly make something before I went to sleep.
Bow1
Bow2
Bow3
Bow4
It was originally a halberd type thing but I got bored quickly with
that and changed it into a weird bow. Also the thing on the blade is a
small flame design
.

Yea I know
I wanted to try out some different things so I sort of combined them all into a model but i'm proud of my odd bow.

Indeed, the odd things are usually the hardest to make.

Thanks
and yeah I know it wont fit in
. The poly count is 2580, i've already learnt oblivion can take a hefty
amount so I don't bother keeping track of my poly count anymore.

It's still best to keep it as low as you can without losing quality.

Yeah true, I think the highest i've seen on a weapon model was 4500 so i'm safe as long as i'm under that
.

I'm fairly shure they can be used for something, but wait and hear what flesh thinks.
allso my rapier, which is still a long way from being finished, has a
polycount of around 2500, but 1000 of those are from the pommel, which
i'll change. I'm probably going to do the whole handguard again
though....

Heh thats one detailed pommel
. But again if you can make it less without losing detail then thats
always good, although as I said you can obviously go up to 4500 without
worry. Oh and it turns out that it was the goblin staff thing that had
that many
.

@Lothar: Always good to have some variations, but I'm not up for
texturing right now. We can use them although you would need to find
someone to texture them.

2500 is actually not that bad...lets see that would come out to 5000
tri's. I'd say put it in game and see if there is any noticable drop in
frame rate...if not then leave it as is.

ok, but it is nearly 3000 now, but 1500 of those are from the pommel, which I will replace

unfortunately it is no longer a rapier, but a rapierish(a new word
methinks) sword. It looks good though. I'll be adding some pics later,
and now I have to texture it and get it ingame
|
Great news.... not on whooping poly count of course.

It's still below 4500 so I think it should work fine. Looking forward to seeing the 'rapierish' thing textured
