Iv'e taken the liberty of starting a thread about what 3d resources we need. I believe tilesets are needed the most for progress, and weapons and armour for teasers. sets needed... Perhaps the living homes of the bosmer?

As mentioned before I think telvanni architecture should be used as a base, do you think you could do a rough model or scetch and post it up here? So then we can improve on it, and maybe before long we can have our first houses :D

EDIT: DA do you know if TEC is making the heightmap or if we are? Because if we are, we need to get cracking.

Urrk - hated banging into all those projections in Telvanni Homes - esp in their towers. Your vicious suggestion has inspired me FLESH - so just for that:

Want lots of somethings different... = polished, seamless, extruded/morphed wood. Much stronger than Mushrooms and therefore do not need structural braces every few feet to bang into!


4 kinds of 'buildings':

Indwellings - as with a knothole or hollow in the side of a giant branch or trunk
- branch entry slopes down or there may be an extruded ledge that runs along the side of the branch...
- trunk entry as for a door in the side of a building
- The grain of the wood should be highly visible and follow the line of the branch or trunk into which the indwelling or inbuilding is set with artistic variation...

Parasitic and Symbiotic Dwellingsmany, many plants grow naturally as parasites or symbiots on trees - could be morphed into dwellings (includes mushrooms FLESH! Wink )

Shanties may be suspended from vine ropes as a tent;

Modelled Dwellings adobe/clay/sap/resin moulds or carvings using polished deadwood for the frames (the deadwood would be important as you would not want to kill a living plant by encasing it in an inimical substance ) and also could use roots from parasitic plants to create the frames for the walls! ;



Different Tree Species

= Different Interior Textures...
= Different Entrances
= Different Leaves

Furniture

= Polished or rough Dead Wood
= Extruded branches/roots from floor and walls
= small parasitic plants
= small rocks, boulders, whatever can be found naturally occuring
= amber, resin, glass,
= imported

The use of natural dies and stains

Weapons :alert:

= purpose grown, living weapons!!!!

Nicely written Raggidman, I fully agree. Yes I like it a lot. For model dwelling perhaps also have Marble from Elsweyr?

I also got an idea that wood is like a rareity, and there could be wood smiths all around Valenwood that carve various things for people (not deadwood, but real wood, so this caver would be a Nord or Orc or the like) and you could find these various decorations around peoples homes.

I admit I did not come up with this myself, but I think it is a good idea.

Now I think we should get some concepts of these things. Oh and into the parasytic and Symbiotic dwelling could go the Bud house, Arbiter made a concept of it and I came up with th name (although I never told anyone lol). I can go fish it up or Arbiter could you post a link?
