The city of Silvern was covered in tree sap one day when the tree burst
and mixed with the water flowing throught it, so basicly now there
trees, houses, bridges, whatever you can think of are Amber.
Some cocepts would be appreciated so someone can start to work on
amking the models, also just some concepts of the city in whole, what
you woulod imagine it to look like so I can have some inspiration. And
a little note, the city is in the trees, but not one, a multitude, and
there is a huge palace, with it's towers rising out of the trees.
There, now you have a nice visual, get drawing.

IN the trees?
ON the trees?
AROUND the trees?

hold on...
so they are ON the branches, not IN the tree...
okay...
so how about... these particular trees have a lot of gouges and natural
bowls in them... like depressions into their branches... in these water
collects...
however, what material is the main city made of? amber? or what? stone (on a tree! :eek
??

Hey all, I've been lurking mostly made a few posts, I'd help out but i'm currently tied up with a different project.
In my opinion, I think Flesh is on the right track with with the
bridges being made out of amber and the like seeing as Silvenar is a
rather unique city, but just for future reference lore-wise, don't
constrain yourself due to the green-pact. that only limits Bosmer from
cutting down and using their OWN trees. they can and do ship in wood
from other provinces.
good luck with the rest of the project!

good point drucifer...
btw, how we gonna tell the player the wood is imported? in NPC dialogue?
maybe a quest where you uncover one Bosmer as having chopped down trees
and you must decide whether to rat him out or keep his secret for
him... |

Yeah, I love misc quests like that. It's good to use quests for explaining lore:
1. Quests are fun
2. it gives us a reason to add more.
And drucifer I happen to know which project you qork on, good luck,
cant wait to DL it. I'm not limiting myself to lore, as just lore would
be no fun without creativity.
Perhaps the base models could be marble, wood, and some others but over them put an amber re-text.
What do people think about this?

I'm having a bit of a hard time visualizing this, could you show us where the lore is on this?

It's in several places, let me go fish it out for you.
EDIT: As promised, the city:
If Falinesti was a tree, then Silvenar was a flower. A magnificent pile
of faded shades of green, red, blue, and white, shining with
crystalline residue. Mallon had mentioned off-hand, when not otherwise
explaining Aldmeri prosody, that Silvenar had once been a blossoming
glade in the forest, but owing to some spell or natural cause, the
trees' sap began flowing with translucent liqueur. The process of the
sap flowing and hardening over the colorful trees had formed the web of
the city. Mallon's description was intriguing, but it hardly prepared
him for the city's beauty.
The palace:
That it was. A frozen scarlet burst of twisted, uneven spires as if a
rival sun rising. A blossom the size of a village, where courtiers and
servants resembled nothing so much as insects walked about it sucking
its ichor. Entering over a bent petal-like bridge, the three walked
through the palace of unbalanced walls. Where the partitions bent close
together and touched, there was a shaded hall or a small chamber. Where
they warped away from one another, there was a courtyard. There were no
doors anywhere, no any way to get to the Silvenar but by crossing
through the entire spiral of the palace, through meetings and bedrooms
and dining halls, past dignitaries, consorts, musicians, and many
guards.
