Ok, so I have my .dds maps |
|
I thought it was better to continue the discussion here about texturing my object.
So I have my .dds maps. How do apply them to the object? It's in .obj
format so I assume it is needed as a .nif, how do I do that?
Thanks for the help people.

I've typed it many times, and it never gave me any errors. Anyway I'm
going to have breakfast now so could you check out the PR thread on the
main page and help me gather up all our concepts/images/renders.
I will get back to this when I'm finished.

You can unpack them with the BSA Commander or the Oblivion Mod Manager (OBM), try both.

That's strange. Try changing the folder to which the BSA is unpacked.

HA HA! I know the answer! I think that you didn't copy the main files
(sound, textures, data, ect.) into were ever you are extracting to. OR the files have to be in the BSA directory that came with the program and you have to extract there...
I remember having that problem when my PC crashed and I wanted to start puting on mods again.

The BSA's are where they should be, but thank you for your input
Lothar. And on some good news, I have gotten my first textured model in
game. Will post a picture soon.

I'm wondering what I should do with the normal maps (_n)..? I think I should place them in the bump slot in my 3ds max.
Sorry I just decided to post this here thinking someone would have some kind of clue.

I think you place them with your texture and the object should read it
automaticly. At least thats what I understood from Chrissloes
description.

Yes I believe Oblivion .nifs automatically search for the _n maps.

well, I dont know how big I'm supose to make this stuff, I cant tell I
have nothing in blender to compair to. I usualy make them HUGE! then
save, then scale them DOWN to make you guys some screenies, but dont
save, I keep them at the large size... so I dunno... but I'm not making
them bigger sry, lol!

It was getting dark at the time of the shot, if you look at the close
up one it's pretty light. It also has blood on it, a bit hard to see at
my 600x800 res and all the setting turned down. Also I made some
etchings in it to look like it was used a lot, hard to see at my
settings but I'm hoping it will be appreciated.

ok I start up the program you browse for 2 files, first you must browse
your .mesh, second you browse the .dds, then at the bottom is a button
that says, "MERGE IT!" and thats it! very simple program!!!
edit:im a little out of it today, dont feel like working, free day for me today
edit#2: oh, and there is a button on the top thats used to extract a
texture from a mesh.... whatever that means, btw I have no idea what
these .mesh files and stuff are really used for, but I do know you know.
edit#3: well just download it and see its only 303kb: http://rapidshare.de/files/30606658/MotoGranPri2DDS.zip.html
