In case people don't check my response at ESF ObMod, here's what I had to say:
quote: |
The answer is basically - we don't know. It's a rumor, we don't even know if it actually happened - and we certainly don't know why,
if it did. The likelihood that Falinesti is Green-Sap probably plays a
role - one theory I've heard is that Falinesti is only Green-Sap while
it is rooted, and so long as White-Gold stood strong, Falinesti was
free to walk about. As soon as White-Gold fell, or perhaps as soon as
Red-Mount fell, Nirn required another Tower, and Green-Sap needed to
root itself to fill this void. |
For more information on Green-Sap (well, actually, only a reference to the name), and on Towers in general, see the Nu-Mantia Intercept.

To work with the EV MQ Falinesti is Green-Sap, therefore a tower. It's
stone has gone missing or been destroyed (part of the MQ). The stone
was the heart, which was powering Falinesti. With it's disappearance it
has rotted itself and if the stone is destroyed Falinesti dies (also
part of the MQ but kept under wraps for now).
I hope that solves that

I think he meant the Elsweyr-Valenwood MQ, not the Elsweyr MQ.

By Camoran Dynasty, what do you mean? The original Camoran kings?
definitely not, Falinesti was walking long after they lost power. The
Camoran Usurper? No, still too long ago, though far more recently.
Mankar Camoran and his children, finishing off the line? Well, no, not
really that either, because Falinesti stopped before then. I don't
think it has anything to do with the Camorans.

I honestly believe the tower is dying. As an organic form, something is
powering it, it may be something very abstract, perhaps the leader of
valenwood and his echoes of the people is infact a stone?

does it have anything to do with the Wild Hunt?
the Bosmer retained the ability to shift their form from the days when
forms were not permanent... and maybe in a way Falinesti is always
changing places... and maybe something has gone wrong... some
inbalance..? |

The EV MQ was not droped, just that each province will have it's own
Main Quest, although I am hoping shorter than the two province MQ. Both
being just as long as the other would be quite a nightmare for
development I think.

Maybe the ground around it is corrupt and it needs a new place or the
city itself will become corrupt and evil and spew disease and all the
nasty stuff
