I present to you, Valenwoods first Architecture. |
|
Feast your eyes on Valenwoods first architecture. It is converted,
textured (for three models the texture is not showing up), in the CS,
and ready to be merged to the ESM. This is not the N'dib.
Some pictures for your viewing pleasure. Also see the full gallery.

now you need less little trees and more big trees.

Well, I must say that I like this.
There is a marvellous feel to both the way the platforms follow the
tree and their contrast with the light yet well made looking
structures.
The first among many! - I hope to see more 'symbiotic' dwellings for
the more Green Pact Committed Groups perhaps, or maybe Shamanic Magic
users...?
This set has an Oriental flavour - reminds me of a plant = 'Chinese
Lanterns' I was thinking about the other day - wonder what sort of
group would use these?

Nice work. I like them, though the do oblviously break the green pact.
I hope more lore correct architecture will be present in the future. I
will give you my Lothlorein architecture. Don't get me wrong, the
models are great, and the feel is supurb, but it still dosn't sit well
with the lore, IMO. of course we could call it "imported wood". Good
luck with making a city, and I will get to work on the new height map
after I am done helping out Black Marshes, and finishing my height map.
We are starting over to get bigger.(MERP) Can't wait to start making
Valenwood a reality.

The Green Pact is a touchy matter, it is imported, and it is probably
not made by the Bosmer (rather a contract construction company, e.g. A
dance in the fire).

Woa there, that is soo true, Dance in the fire is about Imperials
cashing in on emergency aid contracts to rebuild after the war with
Elsweyr = such a Tree City might therefore be on the Eastern Borders.
So having said that, maybe the Imperal Tree Town would be a crude imitation of one type of Bosmer Tree town.
Hope you guys note that the Bosmer Village that got burnt in Dance in
the Fire was not up in the trees? I think that our hero would have
noted that. His first sight of a tree city was Falinesti and its
accompanying trees - ooops
Falinsti is rooted? No one said anything about the other Graht Oaks!
we can have waliking tree towns and villages if we want...

But how are we going to make a walking tree? A tree city no less? It can be done, but can we do it? Should we do it? FLESH!?

Probably the same way we make any other creature, but bigger. After all there are giants in other mods... so?
And if it is a separate world-space then why not?
'Should we try?' - it sounds like fun, and might attract huge numbers
if we succeed... but it may be rather easier and more difficult than
one might expect.
Like all things it depends if someone (or a team) wants to attempt it - might be a big job
There is no way we can tell anyone not to try, but I think the Core has
to reserve the right to accept or refuse the results as with
everything...
Must admit that I hate denying things before the results are in... if only because fact often confounds theory.
