Pheonixamon began work on this but recently she told me that she just doesn't have the time to continue it anymore. Here is the method she used:

"A quick run-through just to see what I'm up against, and decided it'll have to be split over multiple texures or there just won't be enough pixels to make it look like anything but mud. Challenging at least because there's noplace to hide seams. You're probably going to have to use separate leaf or ivy meshes to cover up a few bad spots when it's done."

And this is what she got. We can't use that because the ramp was too steep originally so we had it lowered. If you would like to contact Pheonix and ask her what her precise methods were.

This is a big Altmer Temple. I always envisioned it with a gleaming white marble texture, towering over all the other things near it. Let that vision guide you while making the texture for this.

Would it be possible to get a .nif of the Altmer temple and a UV map? I can't do a thing with an .obj. Tongue

if you load a different nif into nifscope you cna then import and obj... though that dosent help you with the UVmap :p

Yeah I tried that, but for some reason it didn't work. I couldn't open it with 3d Max either.

I can get you the NIF, but not the UV . . . However there may be someone I can ask for the UV. Let me go check *Runs off to the ESF*

For a backup plan we need a plan. Btw the UV mapper in question said she did not have the time. Is there such a thing as modelers that can texture? *dreams*

Don't know about modellers that can texture, but I know one modeller that can texture badly.

Incidentally, we'd need a UV map to be able to texture it anyway and the offer I made still stands.

I am a long way into Uv mapping the Temple, I have created all the seems but I just need to resize all parts to fit them properly onto the texture + pin the odd shaped ones ( a UV mapper will know what I mean Wink )

It's feature from max, it's a mix of auto-unwrap and manual UV mapping. It rules and saves tons of time. I've seen a guy making a UV map in 2 hours, then a guy did the same model in 3 minutes (clocked Tongue ) with peltmap ^^

I havn't got Max. Also I dont want to get it by othermeans + I know blender well now :D . I wonder if there is a blender script like that. You still have to make seams though which is all I have done (took a while as its a huge building so I had to cut it up loads)

Well there might be, get some advanced UV mapping tutorial.

WS ther is a script with blender the Archimap uvmapper or something its called.It in the UV tab of the uveditor window, under scripts.
