That PDF is a good guide for making some speedtree non frond models. Too bad I can't help you with non speedtree.

I've got it, you should know this by now (actually I think you told
me)but oblivion does not accept fronds so none of the plants I
requested can be made. Unless speedtree trees can be converted into
.obj which I really really dout!!

Beginning to seem to me that speedtree makes Valenwood impossible,
unless we want it to be done with only one species of tree?
Is speedtree really essential for trees?

We use speedtree to get animated trees, we could not use speedtree if
we could include animations in another way, or just no animatiuon, but
a lot of people want animations.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure it can be converted to .obj, I will go try now.

Maybe you could try Onyx Trees. They look pretty good, but aren't animated, you can throw it into CS as nif statics.
However those trees are complex and you have to adjust them to export
as nifs. I also don't know how to texture them, I used only onyx bamboo
and it looked rather weird in game untextured (textured was'n good
either). But that's bamboo, maybe other kinds will be helpful for you.
Sorry for little offtopic - was there any discussion about animated
nifs? I mean - is it possible to have for example a windmill in
Oblivion? |

I wonder, the CS can't take fronds, so what if we mde the palm fronds as a leaf texture. I think it's worth a try.

Maybe you should consider static trees with very gentle wind-on-leafs effect animation then?

There are so many great resource packs for Speed Tree, the problem is
the cost is up to 1000 and more. I've been looking for them in 'other'
places but so far no luck
