Issue I needed to bring up. |
|
As most of you noticed, I'm not around as much as I used to be due to
RL interference. I tried to deny it to myself but I am no longer fit to
be the leader of the mod
As much as I hate to say it a new leader needs to be elected soon or
this project will die. I would like to hear everyones ideas on what
should be done.
I thought this wouldn't happen, but it has to. Also if anyone from the
Core is willing to step up to the position (which seems unlikely
because people most of the people in Valenwoods Core are also in the
other teams, with the exeption of Mormacil) please say so.
This can't be held off any longer on my part.

This sucks man, I feel bad for you
If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm your man
I got the name to be a good listener if someone feels bad, and can't deny I had didn't had a rough time a few years back
Anyway, we need a new leader. As you said all other members except me
are really also parts of other mods. For myself I try to keep High Rock
alive as well, but so far not really lot of time nor inspiration, to
bad. I will volunteer as leader to keep this mod from dying, but I fear
I'll have to step down soon as well. It's my first year in college and
lots of free time is getting rare. Neither can I think of anyone else
who wants the job, at least nobody with eitehr enough dedication or
vision. As far as I see, your the right guy FLESH
Well as I said before I'm willing to do my best, I could consider this
as a good training for a career later. I might be able to get us
another team member, but I can't make ny promises on that though , all
new recruits I bring in seem to disappear
I wish you all the best FLESH and I hope things turn out right soon.

Mormacil, I have a suggestion (I am also glad you can step up for a
bit). There is one other person I could see as a Co-leader with you,
Durdain. He has been with us for a while, like you, and to be honest,
in a perfect situation I always envisioned you two as leaders if I were
to step down.
The problem with that is he may not feel up to it, or he may also be
able to do it for a short while, but I think that if you have two
people picking up the slack (for lack of a better word) it should work
out okay. Provided those two people are dedicated to the mod. And I
need an honest answer on that.
I will not be (if the new leader(s) permits) stepping down from the
core, or stop modding Arenthia. As I have time to enough to do that,
but being a leader requires much more than being able to mod. Perhaps
one day things can return to the way they used to be, maybe they wont
need to, but right now action needs to be taken.
I need to hear your thoughts on this Mormacil, and I will also be PMing Durdain.

I'm glad you think that may. There are also other duties besides
checking the forums (and other various threads I have posted
) theres also scouting around on ESF and recruiting, the part I hate
but it's extremely necessary. I've sent a PM to Durdain and am awaiting
his reply.

Well, my opinion is that you (FLESH) have proven to be a very good
leader for Valenwood (I can't really explain it, you've handled things
well so far, and your personality reflected by your posts seems that of
a great leader).
As the other core members have offered, if you want to talk, I think it
would be safe to post on the internal boards (which only VW core
members can access). I find different views and ideas usually help, but
I'm not you, so I can't say what's the best way to do things. But the
thing to remember is that there's always a bright tomorrow just over
the horizon, and nothing can stop that. Do the best you can, then when
it's over, it's over.
I think getting Durdain on the core is a good idea.
FLESH, are you planning on still attending the forum? Or are you leaving?
raggidman: Don't feel too guilty about slacking
, I haven't been active much here at all...
I personally don't think I deserve to be on the core, all I'm able to
do really is offer the odd bit of misc advice or how-to's.
I wish there were more like 36 hours in a day... Don't get me wrong, I
definately want Valenwood to succeed. If Valenwood didn't, I would feel
largely at fault for it.

Leaving? No, I've invested too much in this mod to let myself leave.
I'm still modding Arenthia and I would like to retain my position in
the core. It's just that as things are right now I can't fulfill all my
duties as a leader, thats why I a new one needs to be elected.
I'm still waiting on a reply from Durdain. And thank you for all the
kind words everyone. Our barrier to get past right now is architecture.
What I would do for a modeler that could texture aswell and had some
time to devote to us regularly. The world isn't perfect though and I'm
extremely thankful for what we have.
I do hope Durdain replies soon as things are a bit in flux right now.

Durdain has not replied yet. So I think it's best if we official
announced Mormacil as leader. And seeing as Durdain has not replied I
would like to offer Co-Leading with you Mormacil
If you can take care of PR then I should have enough free time to recruit.
Waiting to hear from you,

You've been a good leader so I'm happy to have you around. At this
moment I'm not so active since my internet connection is doing funny. I
got like a 1% change to load a page, so accessing this page took me 25
minutes already.... anyway I hope it's fixed tomorrow.
