Hello everyone,
Grey Wizard and I have decided it's time to let people view what we
have been working on, Falinesti. You are the first to see this. Let me
explain a few things.
Falinesties size is such that it Speed Tree did not allow us to add a
second layer of branches (making it looks more real) because it
crashed, which is why the leaves look like they are on the branches.
Well I guess that's really the main issue people might have. In our
eyes it looks perfect, and a sight to behold ingame (yes, fully
working, but no screens of that yet) but that may be because we made it.
Follow this link: http://gallery.filefront.com/fleshgizmo/77943/ , to get to the screens, there's only 3 but they should explain all you need to know.
Comment please,

It's exactly 1 mile tall and half a mile wide according to the CS and
Speed Tree, branches are not square on normal trees. And building a
city on it will be just fine. I placed houses on the branches already
and there's enough room to make a road with a house on each side all
the way down the branch. There will be more houses at the lower levels
with less class, but the higher you go up the less houses the branches
can support.

A little on the small side...
No, seriously, it's big. I'm not sure if being bigger than White Gold
Tower is good or not, but then on the other hand, Valenwood is using an
entirely different scale, and Fallinesti is also a very important
location.

In lore it states that Falinesti is bigger, if you mean perormance
wise, it runs fine with full settings turned on, on my crappy computer

Looks huge, it going to look so good ingame with it building on. The
texture near the bottom looks very stretched (make it 2048*2048 and a
4096*4096 for new cards) Also the leaves look a little wierd.
Otherwise impressive stuff there!

Firstly, welcome
Secondly, yes, the textures are placeholders until we make better ones.
And I agree about the leaves but there was no other way

Not on one this size yes. It would look even wierder while walking on Falinesti with the second layer though.

I was thinking the same thing. Falinesti could have some sort of
'heart' that enabled it to walk and grow. Perhaps thats why it stopped,
because this source of energy is cut off.
As for ST, Camoran Paradise has some really strange and alien looking
trees, I can reproduce that effect without much difficulty.

trying to make it VWD AND fully 3d instead of a bilboard, this would be
easier if I could get the tree into max and turn it into a Nif, because
then I could make a _far version of it. But I can't do that so I'm
trying to see if there are any other solutions. |
That would remove the animation of the leaves though if it was
converted to a nif. Not sure how to stop the tree becoming a billboard
either!!

The animation of the leaves doesn't matter much, it looks strange while they move because they go through the branches.
