"The Southern Islands" Alpha - To do List |

Now i'm back its about time we got to work of the alpha.
Very soon I will put up a version of it how it is for you guys here to
have a play with. Hopefully this will get ppl modding and completing
what remains + changes/ideas on what could be done:
To do:
Landscape:
Landscape bugs - floating plants etc
Maybe Expand the larger island?
Interiors/NPC's:
All the interior are in the islands claim section and need to be completed
Quests:
I have written part of two quests:
Weapon one: I need someone to write a history/story of the unique bow? <- I dont know enough about bosmer lore/battles.
Pirate one: Need ideas on how a stealth charater can sabotage the ship without destroying the reward (gold stored in ship)
The problem is without the NPc's or interiors these cant be started.
Another couple of written quests would be good!
Creatures:
Need the retex's done in visual development section.
Ideas for what creatures can be found in the caves + more jungle animals. These need to be retexures of mod/vannilla creatures.

There is just enough at the moment for I video to be made to advertise. I would like to do this though
I think thats about it, if we all work together then this could be released quite soon.

Weapon one: What kind of bow? Longbow, shortbow? Is the model custom or RealSword?
Pirate one: Demolisish it's steeringwheel? poisening the captain? Making the ship look doomed/cursed/haunted so it's abandoned?
I might get to do the crabretex this weekend if you still need it.

Its a short bow and its the custom model with a custom texture. Although I still may improve it once I have some time.
Yer any work from the list will be amazing. Can you do interiors? As
they are the next most important thing. I will start doing some I thnk
as knowone else is doing any
I have been just play testing the landscape and it looks pretty amazing
even if I say so myself + Its pretty much complete. I have also added a
panther, tiger and jungle spiders.
I think I will start doing some recording when I play test ready for the video

I suck at the CS, it doesn't run well on my PC and well I don't got
much time. I can do stuff like retexes because I cqan train my skill at
the same time.

By next week I should of sorted my PC out, I have it cooled and running
now but Oblivion isn't doing well so I'm struggling to test out my int.
The constuction set works though so I can at least start modding again, wooo.

Thats great news durdain, I'm now working on some coral models to make
the water more interesting. I've made a few plants and a rock (not uv
or textures). I will create 5 models atols each with ready placed coral
to make it easy to place. I may release each coral peice seperatly to
make more options.
Also ill start rigging some tropical fish.

you want script? Try this to start.
Umm, hows about adding a claim for a narmatee model, tex and animation - could be added to your wonderful trailer!
... and if you do get to adding to the trailer, try Bosmer Wood Elves in the written overlay - satisfy both Lore and newbies.
add in a male and a female bosmer in a scene together having a restrained argument:

The female : I don't know why I put up with you, ...insert name..., when I could have a tall Nord or a graceful and elegant High Elf for a partner,
male replies: "well, we're feistier and" grins miscieviously, "us little ones try harder."
female grins too, and takes male's hand, (or other doable action to show closeness) both turn to watch a magnificent view ...
Then female says without turning or changing expression: "and don't
think I have forgotten that you promised to check on the Narmatees, insert night time clip of Narmatee swimming aggitatedly in sea near to habitation something has been disturbing them these last few nights ...
male reacts ... : "hmmmm" and going to a table pours himself a glass of
? drinks it, and picking up his bow, strides to the door ...
... cut to boatload of Nords (and/or pirates) with harpoons ...
sorry, no got comp to do visuals/CS/other stuff on
why try this? Narmatees have potential for cuteness - remember the
guar? also requires suitably appealing Narmatee noises, cries, hoots,
whatever

This will be very hard to make, very
and you gave me an idea for a starting area for VW. We could let the
player just walk into VW by several means but for the MQ you need to
start in the south. So when a player plays VW he's not giving
directions to where to cross into VW, instead he's contacted by a
messenger with a request to follow him to VW. Because Bosmer rarely use
vehicles and men aren't that good at moving through the woods you take
a both around Elsewyr. Only your ship gets attacked by pirates (new
cell with two ships and pirates). While fighting them you're asked to
do something at the rear and then suddenly you hear a pirate yelling
and your screen goes black. You load a new cell and wake up aht the
southern coast of VW. A pop-up tells you how you've been knocked of the
ship during the fight. After searching through a shipwreck for some
supplies you find also the body of two crewmembers and the messenger.
After taking the messengers order you leave the cave to swim ashore, to
a beach filled with narmatees

sounds like fun - but the idea I suggested would not be so difficult -
even if the NPCs can't hold hands, there is still the option to have
them turn to each other and lean in close - question is does their eyes
focus on each other, or just stare straight ahead?
However there are other ways to do it, mainly using more dialogue ...
and it could be that the player overhears them ... eavesdropping and
held in place by the nearest window ... that might prompt a lot of
questions on the player's behalf ... ?

Raggidman - If that could be done it would make an Amazing second trailer with extras things made since.
That would be a great idea morm, that way we can start at the south
making a region with my jungle models, which the player can swim to.
Could you start on this? Also morm I would love it if you coulds
improve the house models? You did voluteer!!
We also need someone to start the region to the north sometime.

Hey guys, its getting hard to keep up with howmany jobs you are doing -
so Mormy is moddeler to? Got to be if he can upgrade models!
Maybe you could both message me with a list of the stuff you regularly do (and have done) so I canupgrade the Core descriptions.
It is important people see what kind of support they can hope for from the core
