Do you have Max8 Morm? If so, can you go to that site and try their sample 3DS?
Thanks,
Steve

SACArrow, are you doing all the narmatee work up to and including animations?
I'm asking because I offered to rig a completed model to the
slaughterfish skeleton, in exchange for future help for the Ocean Mod.
OblivionMon has been real busy, so he hasn't posted yet regarding the
post I made on his behalf of agreeing to limited resource exchange.
Tell me what the ultimate narmatee plans are, and if I'm still needed for the job.
K, thanx!

Koniption: I'm a complete n00b to critters; I was barely able to animate a bartop.
Any help in rigging and animating this would be appreciated. As for helping The Ocean Mod: quid pro quo, Clarice.
If you're giving, you should be getting. I have some ideas on that
topic that can be discussed off-line so as not to clutter this thread.
One skeletal question: are there animatable fins with the slaughterfish skeleton? It would be cool to animate the front fins.
Thanks,
Steve

Hmm, I looked at the slaughterfish skeleton, and the fins have bones,
but they would end up being in the wrong location, so custom bones
would have to be rigged to the slaughterfish skeleton and given
animations for the narmatee flippers. Those bones and animations would
be easy enough for me to do, I believe. |

Cool. Mormacil has verified that they work with Max 9, and since it's
3DS, probably 8 as well. What's yout version? Once I sign up, I can PM
the model if you like.

Looks amazing its a little while since I've rigged but I reckon I could do it
. It shouldnt matter to greatly if the fins arn't in the right place as
the collision can just be moved to the correct fin pos (if I remember
corectly) |

I'm OK with the idea, but it would disrupt Koniption's weight-painting,
so I'll let him weigh in on this, 'cause I've never painted weight.

I've decided I'll redo the weight painting, if the narmatee model that
was sent to me, is sent to Mormacil or someone who'll model it up to
look the way it's supposed to be according to Morm's ideals. Then have
the altered model sent back to me, so I can do the weight painting on
the finalized form.
Be sure to tell me anything else I need to know before proceeding, that
might be an issue. Or if you don't want me to continue working on it,
be sure to tell me that too. |

Ok, that's fine. I'll save my files. I would offer to remodel the
narmatee, but since I'm not intimately knowledgeable of how it should
ultimately look, I think it's better I not go there. PM me when you're
ready to move forward. Until then, I'll be hanging around here and
there. |

A bit off topic, but I googled 'narmatee' it to see if was manatee in
another language and to my surprise all the results were either from
Silgrad.com (this thread), a Japanese site that appears to be spying on
us, and two reference to names. Neat huh?

That's it? I went through all that trouble for just a croton plant,
which I could have whipped up myself?? No offense, but I think
something a little more substantial is needed as well, even if it is
just us being allowed to use an altered version of the animated beast
in our mod. |

You got permission ot use an altered version of the Narmatee
Just make it different, a distant cousin please. The plant can be traded for another plant if you want.

Ok, I'll make it a distant cousin of the narmatee. I'll make ObMon a
croton of his own, if he so desires, since that's easy for me to do.
Thanks guys. |

Would it be ok if I could modify that narmatee into a horker for Skyrim?

Very well, you can have the creature I made, and I won't allow it to be
used in the Ocean Mod, nor will I ask for anything in return. I won't
call it a narmatee anymore, since you don't feel it came out right,
though it works ingame. But seeing as how this goes against my initial
post here: ATTN: Valenwood - from The Ocean Mod
.....well, I don't know what to say to you.
Go ahead and keep the creature, I'm sure to make others I can use for
myself in the future. Consider this as now being a contribution. |

Ok, all is well now.
For the final record: we'll use the seabeast in OceanMod, and it will
be different from yours, either because of textures or maybe also some
minor modeling adjustments.
I agree, let's all forget about this.
Alasdair, it's ok with me if you make the creature into a horker. But you might want to see what Valenwood has to say.
