Forum Organisation and Cleaning |
|
Since I dont have Moderator status in these forums, ill just post
threads that I think need to be removed or cleaned here. cleaning and
removing threads will make the forum more manageable and information
more accessible. outdated threads make it look like there is no
progress and often confuse new members. everything needs to be easy to
find and reference, especially for the newer members of the team (such
as myself).
organized by forum. These are the main ones I can see for now.
Valenwood
New Core Member- back from 07, no longer news.
Valenwood Regions-
needs to be updated to actually include the regions (and possibly other
information) instead of discussion since its already decided. perhaps
turn this into a FAQ thread about general VW info?
Gone on Holidays- FLESH is gone, period. back from 07, outdated.
Core-
needs to be updated with the new core members. not sure if the whole
"position for every field" thing is really worth it due to the core
member to member ratio of the project, but thats a discussion for
another time.
Valenwood Tavern
To Do List- this could potentially be a very helpful thread, but needs updating (as far as I can see, not sure if its still applicable).
New Leadership of Valenwood-no longer news, and FLESH is no longer leader. remove the thread.
I am also not entirely sure if its worth having city discusion forums
for Southpoint or silvenar since they are rather far away and have very
few threads. the falinesti one is worth it imho cause its such an
important city. how about moving the silvenar and southpoint threads
into Lore and removing those threads, and putting up a board for
Arenthia instead? that way, cities/regions that are in development have
the discussion boards and discussion focuses on them.
thoughts, suggestions? am I overstepping my bounds here?

Ok I hope that does it. And yes, something needs to be done about the
city discussion forums. I was thinking either sub-forum, merge, or
remove entirely (archive them).

Thank you Durdain, your being part of the Core is a long time coming also
I was thinking, we need to make a decision, either remove the tavern.
Or move all threads at the bottom of the forum to the tavern and keep
that part only for important announcements/stickies. As the two are
drawing attention away from each other.

Just announcements in general should be there IMO. Right now we have
many things. I don't know I just think that they both defeat each
others purposes, the tavern is for general discussion and ideas, but
both seem to also go on at the front.

I have no problem with the green pact. I have a fairly good idea about
what it is, and how it works. My head was working in a practical
manner, do what we can do first, then so on. Arenthia we can do, but if
everyone is so opposed to it, I have no problem setting our sights on
something else.
I'm not coming back as a modeler, I'm coming back as me. I will mod
when I can, and model also. The problem is I need those concepts as I
described them to be drawn. It's how the program I use works you see.
if we are not doing Arenthia, I propose we do a practical city, with
the least organic architecture, as we simply do not have the modelers
to make that. Our architecture is probably the toughest to make out of
any mods out here, I'm willing to bet on that even. If you know where
to find modelers for it, please share your information. I tried before,
and no one was willing to make architecture for us.
We could use people like The Modax Jago, but we don't have them. And I
don't want to divert their attention for their own mods, as I know how
annoying it is when people did that to me. Sure we 'share' recourses,
and man-power with our fellow mods. But there is NOTHING worse then
when you spend so long searching for a modeler, finally get one, and a
person from another mod comes over and says 'Hey wanna check out what
we have here?'.
There is nothing wrong with archiving them (Valenwood Archive) as that
keeps the information, keeps it accessible at that. And it clears up
room. Keep it mind we can un-archive them any time we want. that time
would be when we find a modder for that city.

I get what you are saying. Sure I'll try and make some plates etc. Just
thinking about what makes them different from other provincial cutlery.
Any way, this is getting off topic (Give up god of the forest?
ok, we all have to make sacrifices sometimes
).
Now, back on topic, lets make a clear decision on what we are going to do with those city forums.

Me? It'll be a long time until I reach that type of skill with the
program I'm using. I need something to build confidence, not to destroy
it

You say Chitin, but that is a material of sorts no? What makes it LOOK
different from other plates, why not just retexture OB ones? just
throwing ideas out there.

Can I go ahead and ask Razorwing to put the City discussion threads as
subforums into another forum. And to add an Islands Discussion forum?

Are you sure the Ayleids are older then the Bosmer? Well maybe older
then the Bosmer but I hihgly doubt they're older then the
Bosmer/Khajiit ancestors... They predate the Earth Bones.

Ayleids, Altmer, Bosmer, Dwemer and Dunmer all originate from the Aldmer I believe.

Woah, woah, woah.
We do not know that all elves come from the aldmer.
there are myth alternatives, that may be your personal favorite, but to
just shut it down like that is I think a little reckless.
