Hi all,
Just thought I'd let you know I'm making a Heightmap. It'll be pretty
much the exact shape as the map on TES website. But I added some rivers
from AD's new map. I just need DA to go on AIM and settle some issues
with TESAnnwyn. But it's no major ones. Stay tunned for some screen
shots

They'll be plain, land, no textures or detail, just incase anyone thinks I'm doing any region editing after I make the HM
All in due time though.

Cool!
For the land textures and stuff are we going to generate it or place it all by hand?

Generate, then people may claim areas to give it a realistic feel.

I've done it before. It depends, it didn't take that long for me when I was detailing a region.

Wow, *cough* How large was your island? Did you do it all in one go,
that might have been the reason. You need to break it up into regions,
and do it region by region. All in one go would explain why it took,
erhm, 8 hours

Thats my plan yes, meaning it will be on the same scale as Elsweyr. And it should work fine for Falinesti.

That scale wont make a difference, valenwood could be onehundred time
bigger than elswyr and you can still import the plants...
luckily its not onehundred times bigger!

Way over my head
Some of the other BC leaders and the Silgrad team must have an idea
though right? A few of them have height maps I'm guessin, could drop a
PM their way.

As you can see, this is the only thing in my way right now (picture). I
think you can make out the borders between water and land (just look at
the crazy colours
).

I fixed it
Valenwood now has a working and almost playable Heightmap. All thats left is to add some height variance.

I saved the picture on my hard drive and enhanced it.
What program did you use?

I used photoshop to draw the HM, I then imported my .bmp into the CS
with TESAnnwyn. Then it was just a matter of noise adding with the HM
editor in the CS. That last part can be avoided if you have someone
that can draw the height data on the map straight away.

Looks good! What is the scale compared to Cyrodiil? I hope that isn't a stupid question.

Cyrodiil without borders is 16 quads, 4*4. The maximum allowed while still having LOD.

Looks sick we just need someone to create a region with all the
resources I've created then we can do 1/4 of the area. Obviousl these
will be varited slightly with what is found to make it interesting for
the player
