As the thread may hint, this is about the Xylo river. I noticed something while looking over maps for my HM to base off of. The Xylo is located in different places on different maps.

On this map: http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i201/V.../TamrielMap.jpg It Flows from east to west and is more central to the province of Valenwood, meaning it plays a larger role.

On this one: http://www.imperial-library.info/maps/politicalmapqb8.jpg It flows from North to South, and can be used as a natural border between Elsweyr and Valenwood.

I would like to know peoples opinions on where it is best to put it.

Over in Elsweyr we have placed it as the border between Valenwood and Elsweyr, running approximately north-south. One of our main regions is the Xylo River Basin, west of the desert. It doesn't actually exist yet, but the regions are there.

north to south, as it is lore (according to the PGE). actually, I think it would be best to make the main river n-s and branch it off e-w towards Silvenar (to accommodate the reference to such in the DiF)

Well, the Valenwood/Elsweyr borders are very different between the maps as well. The positions of the two rivers are VERY different though....

I think to compensate, combine the two rivers on the maps. Make them join together, so that both rivers on both maps become one single long river. Just my thoughts.

Which would permit the VW mod to actualy have a xylo.

the border differences are explained by actual territorial conquest and stuff, so thats real lore. the river differences are explained by the fact that both of those maps are fan made. the first one is pre-PGE, and relies on the dance in fire to place the xylo river (hence its w-e orientation by Silvenar). the second map is post-PGE however, and uses it (as well as game info afaik) to place it between valenwood and elsweyr.

Ok then, North-South it is. And it will branch off to accommodate the references made in DitF.

DA & JKJ: I was looking at the HM you sent me of Elsweyr and I see that the Xylo is not yet placed, has this changed? If not can this be held off for a bit so that we can both get the same river on both VW and Elsweyrs HM.
