how big is this area and how long did it take to fully populate? Just so I know what I'm in for once I start modding!

I dont mod that much and I did do all the models and retex my self. If
you have the models already its easy to create a region then you can do
as big area as you want quickly. I also hand laid all the items on the
island. |

Breath taking
That bridge looks like it's missing a normal map, it's very smooth
looking. High quality work. Lets see what you do with the exteriors on
the mainland hehe

Also about the name Windy, isn't there already such a thing as the
Abecean Isles? Perhaps re-name it to show this has something to do with
VW, Valenwood Isles? You see my naming skills really shine here

There is the Abecean Pirates mod, and the Acabean lighthouse mod... but
I'm pretty sure this is the only Isles variant... still...
Emerald Isles?
Jade Archepelego?
See I'm going with variations on green

Abecean is a strong lore based name that gives an image of legitimacy
and proffesional efforts. I know I hate made up name island chain mods,

Awesome work Windsurfer - great showcase
I thought Abeacean Isles was sound - erm..I remember how rough it was
to think of names in the old thread...cant think of any at the moment.

Ahh I must've gotten confused with those other Abecean mods, if ours is
the only Isles then it's ok. It might still get confusing if you know
what I mean?

It was the name I decided I prefered out of our last list of efforts to
name them. Havn't been looking at other tes mods lately so I have no
idea what other mods are named Abecean or what it means?
What do you guys think of the fish
Unfortunatly that was a 2 min coral job just to see it ingame + that
shot is from the back where I didn't put so much. Been packing for
Greece today my flight is at 6.20AM fri so i'm going tommorow and
staying at a hotel in London.
I did install Ob on my laptop and it doesn't actualy look that bad with
Oldblivion I was plesently surprised. I havn't though been outside yet
If you also can see there is a picture of the pit trap (i killed my
self trying to take a closeup then gave up at taking screens) as you
can see its very well hidden I had to turn of the grass ingame to
actually find it. Also there is the exterior of the spiderset (ignore
the grass growing through it)
Flesh that an old picture but i'm sure it has a normal map dont textures go black without one?

Grr, mixed up again, bump map maybe? Something that makes it look like
it's standing out of the model when it isn't in reality.
It's good to hear that OB works on your comp, modding is brutal without it. And your islands, your name

No a normal map is a new version of the bump map. Maybe ill make a deeper normal map if it still looks like that now.
Maybe ill play a bit more of the game if I have spoare time while I'm not modding.

I hope my quest designing does not become a problem, as I am creating
locations since I don't know what I have to work with.

chris - i'm yet to think of a worthwhile interior to put there that why
I would lie it to be part of a quest. A place the player visits
regulary thoughout the mainquest. Just need the quest to fit with this
building.
FC4- try playing the islands. Download the ESM master file and the
current .esp. You will need the masterfile for the updated one anyway.
That will then really help with what we have got to work with. |

I'm gonna have to put this in my sig, I think:
I can't play the plugin. I can't even play Oblivion right now, or use
the CS. My laptop cannot run either and my desktop is KIA atm.

I took a look into that, but I did not have the time to attempt to
figure out how to make it work, and it doesn't affect the CS AT ALL.
So it wouldn't help me in modding. Considering I have to return this
school laptop in... a month, it isn't worth the time I do not have to
begin with to figure oldblivion out.
But I should get my computer working in May. This will be the first mod I download, promise.

For the CS check out what Windsurfer got, I think it enabled him to run the CS through a workaround method.

Yer it was thnaks to llamaranger dowload a program called 3danalyse and
enable HWtexturesand lighting emulation. As onboard graphics dont have
it it crashes but this programs uses the processor to do it instead.
Oldblivion is very easy you just donwload a 300kb file double click on
it and its done works a treat and looks pretty good aswell. |

Just wanted to say I've had some time to spend on this. Started making
the ship which youy ariive on. Created the ship in anvil. 2 interiors
for all the levels. 1 Fine and decorated and the second flooded with
carnage everywhere. I've also created a world space like the bloated
float one in the sea. Now I've gotto makethe NPCs and figure out how to
do quests. |

Just found a problem my Cs crashes when I add a topic to a quest? Ill
try again but its a bit of a nightmare. Also when I walk around the
islands it crashes in the Trees not sure if this is a mod fault or the
fact my oblivion is so changed (oldblivion + testing v2.0 patch) that
it crashes. I will upload the latest and let ppl try it out. |

Nope
We are not dead. Its just my laptop died on me so I have less time on
the net and cant mod at the moment. Its a power problem not a HD. Even
if it was it would only take me a week or so at home to catch back up.
I'm also going back home on the 14th of sept.

Here, at long last, is the promised final version of my storyline for
the Abacean isles main quests. I'm sorry it took much longer than I
planned, I only came back from holiday very recently, and prior to that
it seemed on these boards like most of you guys were away as well.
Anyway, this file is a document which lists each quest and the branches
within them. Dialogue and plot information as well as script effects
are described (unfortunately I don't know how to script, only what can
and can't be done, so they're not too detailed).
I've designed it so that, whilst the quest line itself does not divide,
several quests can be completed in several possible ways, each of which
will have a dramatic effect on how the storyline progresses (though the
end is the same, ie. the player gets on board the Bosmer ship and
escapes, there are three very different ways this can happen).
Please read it and let me know what you think! Once again, I'm very sorry it took so long.

I'm afraid I haven't seen anyone other than Mormacil and Lady Nerevar
around recently. I have been working on High Rock and Black Marsh
myself, both of which have seen important progress.
I'm sure that once we get the Abecean Islands released, there will be a flood of new interest in this project.

Happy Christmas and New Year to you too! Glad to hear that you'll be
back with us. It's got quiet mostly because the mainland Valenwood mod
has died due to inactivity, but there are plenty of people who still
want to see the Islands completed - we were all waiting on you!
