you know before i got nif skope i could simplely rename a nif file to a egm file and itd work.

what do i need to view an egm file? and to convert a .nif to a .egm?

Its not an isolated problem either as when i tried this mod http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23695 it caused a crash to yet oddly enough ,stuff like the elseywer mod still runs perfectly

Hmm... the problem sounds like maybe a master file isn't enabled. The only master it requires is Oblivion and maybe SI. In a previous version CMpartners was also required. Whenever a CTD occurs on launch this is usually the problem. I recently was having some CTD problems and it was fix by changing my read order. I am not really an expert of that kind of thing.
