Idea for Main Quest of Aldmeris

Before I start: I was never trying to kill the project. I was trying to see if anyone could come up with a good main quest around it. Then I thought of this, and I believe that it's a good idea.

Perhaps make a tatic kinda like the Yuuzhan-Vong in the Star Wars EU. Looking for a homeland and getting so despreate that they just make it from what little they have. Maybe a large conspircy thing surrounding it?

The Main Quest would actually be pretty cool if it were centered around it. You find yourself in the mystical Elven Homeland, but things just seem a bit...off.

Then at the end of a long quest involving multiple parties you discover that the land you are on is actually an island created through magic by a team of powerful Altmer that wanted their homeland back so badly that they created a replica of something that never was.

I was, and I think this idea calls back to what was interesting about earlier games.

Conspirecy, decpetion, and a landscape that is both beautiful and dangerous.

This does sound like an interesting idea. It might be interesting if they tie in something with the Summerset team, regarding it. Or perhaps a breakoff outcast group that left with King Orgnum, but didn't want to settle on Pyandonea? So frustrated with their exile that they decided to create the ultimate rebuttal: the creation of the ancient mythical homeland that the mer so longed for.

I have been reading over it. However, I feel that I'd be best to just avoid the Aldmeris section of Beyond Cyrodiil, as I'm a bit of a purist as far as lore goes. Since this is quite insistent on Aldmeris being the true homeland of the elves, I doubt I'm going to have much place here and it's looking like I'm only managing to inspire hostility.

I'm sorry to hear that, well if you change your mind you are welcome, and whether or not its the true homeland isn't my call, but I'm pretty sure thats what we are gonna do.

I've gotten myself far too deep in the Intercept to have much of a place here. Tongue

But I will come around if I change my mind. Elsweyr and such are more my area of knowledge, either way. This has got me pondering the idea of a Pyandonea mod, though.

Yeah, this should be the real Aldmeris, and I was thinking for the main quest, maybe a very wise and powerful elf wants to prove the existance of Aldmeris to all of Nirn, but only the "chosen one" is able to complete his task for him. You are the chosen one. He sends you to the continent of Aldmeris by way of magic, he wants you to bring back a certain item of great value to prove the existance of Aldmeris, but the item belongs to the ruler of the Cresmer, and he will not give it up so willingly, so he sends you on a mission that must be completed in order for him to give you the item, what this quest will be, I do not know, but once you complete it, you are given the item, you return to the wise elf with the item, and the existance of Aldmeris is proven once and for all!

I think that should get you there, but the main quest should involve the political situation of aldmeris, and the building of a new tower.

Scratch that, The Left-Handed elves should play a big part in the main plot. So should the deadra, that brings me to my next point, what is the presence of deadra in aldmeris?

Just because the daedra are part of TES doesn't mean they have to have a prominent role in every MQ. They didn't so much in Daggerfall, and even in Morrowind it was pretty much just Azura. If the daedra do play a role in the MQ for Aldmeris, it should at least be done better than it was for Oblivion.
