I would think one of the characteristics of having lived in such a harsh land before and such a hostile land now would be the ability to quickly establish a few major cities. Perhaps they could have a grand capital in their strongest location, and the other areas would be quickly-estabilished strongholds/garrisons/outposts in strategic locations, or smaller villages/cities.

We're dealing with a large amount of mer, here, no matter how you look at it. This is the exodus of a whole race. Necessity would cause their cities to develop quickly no matter HOW recent they are.

20 years worth of building, nothing awe inspiring, prolly mostly makeshift, but settled enough for themt o be standing cities, the one in the crystal desert is VERY new.

Either way, I think they should have at least one large city. definitely trying to make efficient use of resources, but they need some sort of large headquarters, and some of the nobility should have fairly lavish manors and the like. Maybe a huge palace in the capital built as a testament to the architecture they used on Yokuda, showing their culture's 'immortality.' Or a temple to Lorkhan.

I agree that the Yokumer do need several strongholds and garrisons. If the main quest is going to envolve them going to war with all the other races they would definitely need strong defenses.

Yes, but not extremely ornamental, and not something made to stand for thousands of years, perhaps 8 border forts, 5 within their land, and large ones at cities.

Their strongholds HAVE to be built to last, to withstand attacks. They shouldn't be ornamental, of course, but they should be incredibly durable.

They are strong strucures, but they wern't built on the principle of lasting forever, they can take atacks,but the structure will not hold for thousands of years.

I never said they suck, I'm being realistic, while also saying they have freaking fortresses, barbians don't build those, I'm saying they should have a feel of yokuda architecture, but not be very established.

I'm seeing the strongholds as being slightly similar to dunmer strongholds. Built to withstand frequent attacks, and consequently, able to stand strong for thousands of years.
