beast-folk in Morrowind, Azhag, betmeri league, etc. |
|
I have been thinking... a lot of our ideas seem to point to a beast-folk migratiion....
problems in their homelands or slavery had brought them to Morrowind...
Azhag's Orcs probably migrated here as Skyrim was a tough time... Legio
Argonis was from a tribe of Argonians that was suffering famine in
Argonia... the Orcs of Valenvaryon where there from a large gathering
of ocs who had gone to Vvardenfell to worship Malacath. Eleedal-lei's
Argonians on the Bitter Coast are freed/escaped slaves turned into
guerillas... Orcs were brought along in the Gnisis Deaths-head
Legion... goblins were imported by Helseth, etc.etc.
now I think I shall come up with a background story for Azhag's Orcs
and also in relation to the rest of Morrowind's betmeri movements
I had a theory... Helseth had to have gotten his goblins somewhere... I am guessing Wrothgarian Mts.
He knew it would be hard to hide so he boarded thousands up in
slave-barges and had them sail to Morrowind... most ships sunk....
one ship sunk near Blacklight.... another in the Sheogorad isles...
another on Azura's Coast... but the rest finally made it down into the
Thir river and the goblins were herded under Mournhold...
Azhag Orc Camp
near Blacklight, bandit orcs were gathering.... they wanted more than
just hard life of the outlaw.... they wanted to redeem themselves and
regain their honor... they had done some terrible things...
however they discovered a group of goblins on the beach, sniffing out
the land and trying to find out where they were... the two groups met
each other.... the Orcs and the goblins... the Imperial-Redoran
punitive army was almost upon them....
Azhag, leader of the Orcs, and the chief of the goblins had to come up with a plan....
the first was a bold plan of the goblins charging the front whiel the
orcs snuck around to strike the flanks... the goblins, though less well
equipped, had numbers to keep the Redoran occupied, the orcs were
well-armed but few...
however, Azhag decided on another course of action, no less bold...
grabbing a durzog he rode it until he met up with the Redoran
battalion... Redoran warrior led by Founders as well as militia eager
to prove their worth and to serve their House.... he offered new
deal....
while Cormaris View was well protected, it was not as economically
strong as Blacklight... Azhag suggested that instead of warring, the
Redoran could go home, back to their lands... Azhag's Orcs
(&goblins) would protect Blacklight from now on...
both Imperial Legion and Redoran were skeptical.... so Azhag made two
deals.... to the Redoran he said that his forces would guard the
Imperial Blacklight city and make sure they never advanced south, to
the Imperials he promised to protect the city from Redoran who were
getting patriotic and had sentiments against the Imperials...
to both the general of Cormaris View and the Legion General of Blackligt he gave fine orcish armors...
and thus it was settled... the Azhag Orc Camp would be between
Blacklight and CormarisView and would in a sense retain a balance.... a
sort of buffer between two rising cities, Imperial and Redoran... also,
in the event of an invasion from Skyrim, the orcs & goblins were
charged with having to be the first line of defense....
since then, the orcs and goblins of Azhag have dutifully protected the
land and have, with victories over enemy forces, won the respect of
both local Redoran as well as Imperial colonists
meanwhile, the shipwrecked goblins in the Sheogorad and Azura's Coast
met up with other betmer groups... the Orcs of Valenvaryon extended
their frienship to them, and they settled in remote areas of
Vvardenfell preyingon caravans and travelers.... this gave full rise to
the betmeri league...
However, the efforts of the beast-folk on the mainland were drastically
different than on Vvardenfell... while in Legion Argonis and Azhag's
Orc Camp, the betmer won respect by maintainin peace with their martial
prowess, the betmeri on Vvardenfell won respect by successfully making
war on the island... years of slavery, outcast-ship, and Daedra worship
had transformed these betmer into hardened guerillas, wishing to fight
for a betmer state on Vvardenfell as their chances of goinghome are
slim...
and while both sides of the betmer in Morrowind respected one another's
decisions... the Argonian guerillas of the Bitter Coast foudn it hard
to persuade Legio Argonis to their side, the Orcs of Valenvaryon foudn
it hard to sway the Gnisis Deathshead Legion Orcs and the Azhag Orcs to
their side... and thus, though common in racial identity, the goals of
the betmer, on the mainland and on Vvardenfell remained different, and
regarded differently
Edit: I was just wondering...
in our world, although very different and separated, Vietnamese,
Chinese, RUssians and communists all around the world met in Moscow in
a Communist convention....
could there be a Morrowind betmeri convention?
