With the memory loss and everything, I've been cleaning the house up
and I've discovered another computer. I have absolutely no idea on the
specs except it has memory, a soundblaster card, a video card, and no
HD's. I do have a couple of old ones to put in as well as a networking
card.
What I'm thinking of (and that's a very dangerous thing
) is to put the extra HD's into it, seeing what I can get off those drives, and making it into a linux computer
. There is already 3 computers working in the house (2 XP, 1 Win 98) so
have any members dealt with linux, which versions have you been
comfortable with, which have you disliked, or not dealt with at all.

Gentoo Linux, nothing for beginners
I use it on my desktop every day. Debian is also quiet nice (runs on my
webserver). You might want to check out (K)ubuntu, Mandriva, or SuSE. I
have set up both Kubuntu and Mandriva without problems, but have no
long term experience with them. Try some of them and find the one that
fits best.

I've used Mandrake Linux 8 but was never able to do a dual setup. I
don't have a copy of it anymore. I'm looking at this as a summer
project, something to do beyond modding once in awhile. One question I
have is, will Linux also work with a KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse
Interface)?

Thanks for the link!
It's looking like SUSE is the best way to go at the moment.
