Gargon Huul, Ald Khun suggestions |
|
Razorwing asked me if I would include the two in the new mod. With the map:
I think #13 would be good for Gargon Huul and either #9 or #11 may be good for Ald Khun. I'd like to know what you think.

Sorry for not getting back to you on this sooner, Rodan.
The background to this is that I've slightly revised the Red Book.
For those who are unfamiliar with it, Morrowind has a yearbook for each
of the three Great Houses written the year before the game starts, i.e.
Yellow Book of 3E 426 for House Hlaalu. The book I wrote is based on
the Redoran Red book from Morrowind but deals with the year before
Oblivion starts, and of course unlike that book my book is for our
District whereas Morrowind's was for Vvardenfell district.
Back when I first wrote it I used Prometheus' map
for reference, which is why the towns Gargon Huul, Ald Khun, Maar Mok,
and after the revision Cormaris View as well, is mentioned in it. We
weren't even planning on doing the northern region back then, so I just
used the names as some sortof vehicle for fantasizing up imagined
circumstances. I rather like the idea of Maar Mok, and would love an
opportunity to mod that little town south of Reich Parkeep, but other
than that the names Gargon Huul and Ald Khun doesn't have any special
significance to me. They can be named anything at all, and I don't mind
rewriting the book so we can all be happy with it.

I'll use the names. It's a little easier to use lore names than making
new ones.I also like the idea of Maar Mok south of Reich Parkeep.

Are you sure the names are lore-based? Because TR made up a lot of city
names. I've made the mistake before of thinking they didn't.
They're not mentioned on TIL or seen on any maps I know of.

They did take a lot of liberties on names (I always wanted to keep to
the Arena names originally), like changing Silgrad Tower, Greenheights,
Glen Haven and so on to so-called lore names. But using those names for
new villages I don't see any problems. I think that Ald Khos (I kept
saying Ald Kuhn) may be better located at number #14 on the map.

Ok, then it's decided - Gargon Huul and Ald Khos it is
Sure, #14 sounds like a great location. It'll probably be pretty cold up there, I imagine?

Hehe, yaay
And maybe these little buggers can be ported and make an appearance? There's something very soothing about whacking penguins... great stress-relief!
