I dunno about gallons, but perhaps, 5 wineskins of water.... as a hide-canteen of wine was more common than a plastic container of gallon of water... agree or no?

these recipies are for the brewer's use so he can make large quanties for sale to the public and to supply mead the mead halls.
5 gallons of mead is a relative small quantity when compared to the amount needed for such a buissness. One of the skills that makes a master brewer is the ability to accutatly increase the amount of ingredients and cooking time of the mead for huge batchs of like 300 gallons of mead at a time.

the idividuals will be able to buy mead from the brewers/mead halls and of course find them in indivdual bottles

Sounds original Good job!

But if it's set in the Skyrim Province, how come it uses ingredients from Morrowind?

thats just what I have to work with at the moment like I said ingreadents are subject to change as I get more ideas on this and I can get galrina to take a look at this lol she prolly will kill me yet lol

another thought as well is using some ingredents from Morrowind province is the beginning of eastablishing a crediatble trade between skyrim and and Morrowind.

A variety of crops are raised in Skyrim, from wheat to the hardy snowberry. Of note is that the particular climate of Skyrim makes it the only region in Tamriel, outside of the most northern reaches of High Rock and Morrowind, suitable for the brewing of the infamous alcoholic beverage Nordic Whiskey, also known simply as "Rotgut". This is because that, in addition to the local availability of certain ingredients, several times during the distillation process, the substance must be subjected to extreme cold temperatures, so that it may freeze and refreeze. The drink is noted for the distinct "cold" taste, similar to extraordinarily strong mint, which persists as a feeling of ice in the stomach, as well as for the very deleterious nature of its content. Nordic Whiskey is illegal throughout the Empire, but this does not stop many proprietors from stocking smuggled bottles for those brave enough to try a mug.

From the Wikipedia.

The point is the Rotgut
