EG.. I have to thank you Siegfried for the inspiration for this one:
The Tavern Song
Mead be the quaff of gods and men
Yet woe be you if it rules ye
No matter the wisdom or years on a man
Mead brings out the fool that he can be
Quaff all you wish but remember my friends
Ale is a cruel deceiver
That wench ye have spied with the gleam in her eye
Ye may be much wiser to leave her
Wine be the stuff of both poets and kings
Yet wary be ye of it's kisses
You may wake to find you have wed to a kine*
When the wine made her fairest of misses
*Kine is a cow btw.. hehehe
-------------------------------------------------------------
May be many more verses to come.. lol.. these kind of songs are added to over time.. sooo.. hehe

Very nice! It's going to be so cool to have ballads, songs, and stuff for our areas.

Version 2.. a little bawdier..
Mead be the quaff of gods and men
Yet woe be you if it rules ye
No matter the wisdom or years on a man
Mead brings out the fool that he can be
Hey Hey now raise your glasses and let the rafters ring
Tis fine to doff the mead and ale and finer still to sing
Quaff all you wish but mind my friends
Ale is a cruel deceiver
That wench ye spied with the gleam in her eye
Ye may be wise to leave her
Hey Hey now raise your glasses and let the rafters ring
Tis fine to doff the mead and ale and finer still to sing
Wine be the stuff of both poets and kings
Yet wary be ye of it's kisses
You may wake to find you have wed to a kine*
When the wine made her fairest of misses
Hey Hey now raise your glasses and let the rafters ring
Tis fine to doff the mead and ale and finer still to sing
Bjorn the Bold was in his cups
The mead was flowing free
While staggering home his steps did roam
Till a fair maiden he did see
Hey Hey now raise your glasses and let the rafters ring
Tis fine to doff the mead and ale and finer still to sing
He paid no mind to leaf and bough
Her womanly virtues did blind him
He never could say where the splinters were from
Or the places he did find them
Hey Hey now raise your glasses and let the rafters ring
Tis fine to doff the mead and ale and finer still to sing

Oh ... that's great.
Hmm ... you do know what's going to happen when you post stuff like that?
But this requires chorus and verse and thus might take some time ...
Greetings
Quentin
P.S.: This is NOT, I repeat NOT
what I have in mind for this song, but I couldn't help it. If you guess
the song, you get a drink from me in the Golden Gryffin.

Thanks a lot for the kind words, but as I said, this version is a
horrible rip-off of one of the most famous tavern songs.
Hehe, it's strange though that all of my musical inspirations are more fitting for the Skyrim region ...
Greetings
Quentin

Hehe, I'm famous (notorious? ) for driving people nuts, so welcome to the club.
And the music I used for your great lyrics is Whiskey in the jar.
Greetings
Quentin

That would certainly add to the tavern atmosphere. Drinking songs rock!
